It's not so much that I'm encouraging ignorance. I'm discouraging direct exposure.
You can know and be fully aware that animals are being killed. But to see it happen with your own eyes, or to participate, will fuck up a person.
I guess I would encourage direct exposure if I thought more people would end up being vegetarian. But my gut tells me that more people would just end up crazy.
Hmm .. maybe you're right in that it's a matter of degrees. To me, there's a minimum amount of empathy that people should have, and below that I think they're crazy. So yes, psychopaths are probably more crazy than hunters. I can see that making sense.
To me, it still takes a crazy mind to look at a breathing mammal and straight up murder it. More so the more intelligent it is.
There is a correlative link between the willingness to hurt animals and psychopathy. You start out hiring animals and you are more likely to be okay hurting humans.
If people are going to choose to eat meat, then I would prefer that they are protected from the trauma that comes with animal killing.
But at least that's believable. A male-presenting person with a vagina has sex with a man and doesn't want to admit to the situation because it seems gay and that is shunned at the time.
You can't budget your way out of poverty. If income doesn't cover base survival, you simply are fucked.
There are surely people out there whose failure to plan has put them into a horrible and avoidable situation. But there are many more who make good choices and still end up horribly in debt. And for them, what's the point? Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
Yeah. Before this, I couldn't even name the president of the US.
