    Not fair, right?

  • No one intelligent wants more international violence.

And the idiots think that a black eye would stop us, not make it worse.

  • You're seeing that because it's above the table. I think other large countries are simply doing it under the table. I think the NSA/CIA basically own Microsoft and Google encryption whenever they want.

A good rule is: If you don't want it read, don't store it on someone else's servers with someone else's encryption keys.

  • You can't logic people out of fear. People don't listen to statistics. Studies have been done to prove that.

So why are women afraid in the first place?

My guess, and it's a pretty educated guess it's because many are molested and most have friends that are molested. When you've been the victim of violence, it's easy to imagine more violence.

So it's pretty simple. We find and confront and prosecute anyone who molests someone. And support women in that effort.

  • I think it might. One in four women is molested. Some quite young. Those people are going to have bad estimations of risk. So if we work on reducing that, it'll help a lot.

  • So just because it's less likely than a car crash we shouldn't talk about how to improve the situation.

Sorry, we can't try and cure cancer, it's not as deadly as heart disease?

  • This comic makes you angry? What part makes you angry?

I'm angry that women need to worry about being murdered, whether for good reason or not. It's a cry for help. And I help by being overly non-murdery and by speaking to men with rage issues to help them defuse their anger before they get all murdery.

  • That's funny. I don't see this as deepening the divide. But then again, I never felt the urge to murder people.

I see this as a cry for help. I'm on the woman's side. I want them to live in a world where they won't ever need to worry about that.

  • I wish they acted as street cleaners.

  • You define your dns by IP. you get the cert from that IP and automatically trust it.

The cert for validation the server only validate the hostname. It's not useful for IP.

  • This is some legitimately backwards thinking.

I was on charge of end user devices for a company of 70k people. 70k laptops and desktops. Macs were depreciated over 3 years. Windows devices were depreciated over 5. Repair rates were equivalent, but it was a lot easier to repair the windows devices in house.

  • You need a DNAO (do not anally oxygenate)

  • Very possibly. But the train of thought loses me.

If squatters were a very big problem, and most squatters come from overstaying rentals, fewer people would be landlords because of the high risk. There would be squatter insurance for landlords.

I don't see that. So in our current situation, either squatters are not really that big of a problem, or the insurance industry is not being greedy enough? You can see why I think it's the former.

And it also wouldn't explain the high vacancy rate.

But here's an idea that fits what we see more closely. You have a bunch of unrentable units because they're not up to code. The owner doesn't want to fix it. They're just sitting on the property hoping it goes up in value so they can sell it. Squatters see that and move in because they don't care if it's up to code. The owners freak out because squatters reduce the property value.

  • Start sitting next to him. Right next to him. Even if there's open seats elsewhere. Say nothing. He'll be too uncomfortable to confront you about it and will move away after the second time.

  • If there's little repercussion and everyone is broke, yes.

  • That's not how it works. I'm sorry you disagree with English, but people are able to be hurt but words not pointed directly at them.

  • If that's true, we would all do it. No?

  • Oh gee, only 500 missing kids? That's alright then isn't it.

    Fuck off with this nonsense.
