Line 2397 of the tesseract block list.

  • Antifreeze

  • I think they're thinking "shit I can barely survive and have two jobs and I don't want my kids to starve and I'm taking care of my elderly parents. I can't go riot or my whole family will suffer."

  • Now we just wait for AI to scrape Lemmy, and the comic can be real.

  • That's right. You'd port forward on the router TO the firewall WAN side. Then port forward on the firewall to the server.

  • Oh yeah. The early 00's are still a blur.

  • Your Verizon router is the farthest "outside" your network. Your firewall will be 'inside' it. When you connect them, you're connecting the router's LAN (inside) to the firewall WAN (outside).

  • I like it! Yes hard to read.

  • I want to help you but I don't know how. I'm at a bit of a loss. :-D

  • The concept of a borg economy intrigues me. There's no need for a currency. What would it even be?

  • When you don't have a lot of money, you often get hand me down clothes that don't fit. You then make do with what you have. And if a group in that situation adopts it as part of the culture, it can become cool and starts to be taken in fun directions.

Look at ripped jeans. It used to be a sign of poverty (you can't get new jeans and your parents can't fix them?), now they sell it as a feature.

That said, it's no more ridiculous than ties and buttoned collared shirts. Asphyxiation is a weird cultural fashion.

  • "we need an update call"

Translation: I know you're not going to get this done on time. I'd like to pre-schedule some time to berate you for it.

  • Because this is a potential leak of information and could affect their own returns.

  • Fahrenheit is just a metric measurement of human experience. Why do you hate base ten?

  • I know you're looking for self-hosted, and I hope you find it. But in case you don't, the free tier of calendly might do the job. I used to use it when I was job hunting.

  • Good point! I wonder if the difference is that feet is actually a feature of the rope? Because you wouldn't say I need 30 ropes or so.

I really love and hate this language.

  • What is 7791?

  • You would also say it "five or so eggs". The "or so" gets tied directly to the number, not the eggs.

But it's becoming more common to say "ish" for an uncertain quantity. How many eggs? Five-ish.

And I have no idea why that's the case.

  • The phrase to use is Tool Library. I don't know of any open source offerings, but this may work. I haven't tried it
