I think it's safe to say that the right wing in this country has created the propaganda equivalent of meth. You may say I'm being hyperbolic, but try taking their Fox News away from them and see how they react. It's much like an addict losing their fix.
I love my mom, but she's getting up there in years. She's not a critical thinker anymore. She certainly doesn't have the wherewithal to fight this machine that's explicitly targeting her and her fears. Letting her consume truthsocial and Fox News is neglect on my part, as someone who cares about her well-being.
