  • sounds like your pitiful mind cant understand the unix file oriented philosophy and you should stay 10 feet away from all information technology /sarcasm

  • cc @RedFrank24@lemmy.world

i think there’s lots of different flavors of android or something, such that different phones handle the user-facing file system totally differently. it might also be that nicer phones the devs put more effort into making UX have a more forgiving learning curve but because android isn’t truly open source those developments are inaccessible to other users

  • It’s almost as if this is a computer architecture designed for idiots human beings who don’t know or care what a file is interact with computers on a non-file oriented basis or have been lied to and systemically unsupported in their education for what purposes their data is being harvested.

No hate. No useful conversation starts with calling large swaths of people idiots, is all.

  • What’s our over/under for how long until the executive order that conveniently pushes the boundaries of what “illegal” is.

  • those users were banned long long ago

  • Privacy @lemmy.world

    yikes

  • find new ways to enjoy or prepare fresh fruits and veggies, get cardiovascular exercise, bonus points if in the sun for vitamin d, avoid stress when possible, sleep 7 hours when possible, avoid smoking, alcohol in excess, and other substances that put strain on your body. take care of yourself emotionally and find time to be with people you love. drink water!

no one will be able to do all of these perfectly always and it is normal to struggle attain most or even any. but they are more precise and beneficial targets than “gain or lose weight” and they have much more immediate and noticeable outcomes :)

  • Conversely, though, remember that unhealthy nutritional choices can mess with your immunity, cause inflammation, and really screw with your day-to-day energy and sleep. Nutrition is always a story performed on a much more complicated stage than weight=calories in - calories out! (Though that equation is a good signpost that guides the plot.) See https://lemmy.cafe/comment/9956540

  • To ammend even further: Health neither stops nor starts at weight in almost any case. Far better strategies for self care will instead look at:

    • Cardiovascular fitness (resting heart rate, blood pressure, etc)
    • Energy levels, blood sugar and sleep
    • Immunity, inflammation, stress

More broad attention to these three rough categories is going to be way more positive than worrying about the single metric of weight or BMI. Doctors may recommend a raise or lowering of weight, but for ALMOST EVERY person that’s only as a means to the end of improving one or more of the broader cardio, energy, and immunity mechanisms.

  • but now, apparently, it’s okay to say the entire country is filled with bullies and idiots like these kids at this school.

i mean… yeah cuz it’s kinda true. 22% of US students report being bullied—that’s 1 in 5, and those are 3 times as likely to show suicidal behaviors, which is the second leading cause of death in high schoolers.

compare that to criminal convictions for murder by illegal migrants in FY24: 29. not 29 hundred, not thousand. twenty-nine.

bullying is a huge problem. don’t get me wrong, i’m friends with former self-admitted bullies. it doesn’t mean a person is irredeemable. but bullying is a big deal that’s worth talking about.

  • Luddites’ main concern was the systemic redirection of revenue from them, the laborers, to the owners of the factories. They did not simply hate technology for technology’s sake.

The fact that you ignore this basic historical fact betrays an embarrassing ignorance.

I personally don’t give a shit if some AI is used in research. I think that’s awesome. But AI also actively and materially deprives laborers of compensation for their work, both before and after the model training process. And I fucking hate that.

  • It’s because race and politics are historically intrinsically tied in America, and DEI is essentially the new n word as coopted by racist bigots.

I have no problem with this being considered politics as it’s parallel dehumanization and delegitimization tactics to those used in Nazi Germany.

  • I feel insane that no one has commented this yet??? The data clearly only starts in November. At minimum this is our second plateau and I seem to recall more that have happened lmao.

  • This better explains your position than your previous comment. Thank you and I do apologize for any mischaracterization.

  • I think you think Jewish people are all pro-Israel which is ignorant at best. Bigotry at worst.

Again the data proved this. These were polls of voters in general, not pro-Palestinians. American Jews were absolutely represented by the polls.

  • And regardless of what our opinions are it won’t change the fact that Arab Americans endorsed Trump,

Ah there you go! You have a problem with some Arab Americans who endorsed Trump. I have a problem with them to!

But some is not all. The quote you cited is from a group who endorsed Jill Stein. If every Stein vote had been alocated to Harris the outcome would have been the same.

Looks like I have helped you successfully make your position less hateful. It turns out you were attacking the wrong group. This is progress. :) Best regards.

  • you said cope. about ethnic displacement. like it’s internet beef or something. that’s what’s hateful. cope with me judging you for it.
