  • Do I upvote? Do I not upvote? Oh my god, it's so awful, it's perfect

  • I would be shocked if it turned out my dog didn't have the canine equivalent of sensory processing disorder. She shows the same variations of discomfort, annoyance, and irritability I do when she encounters sensations she hates, even though we hate different things.

  • Look, I'm just sitting here impressed that he actually managed to focus his attention somewhere that might help people for a change. Normally, we just do nothing, yell that it's our god-given right to do nothing, then make excuses for why we're going to continue doing nothing!

  • Mine's 20-200. Had a 1-10, 20-200, and 200-1000, but my 20-200 always gave me the best consistency. What's yours?

  • Newsflash: businesses don't operate in a vacuum no matter how much one whining man wants them to. Part of running a business is paying attention to how current events affect your operations and working proactively and flexibly to keep things running.

It's as if the business owners who voted for not-this-guy knew that his election would be bad for their businesses and didn't want it to happen!

  • Don't give us a pass. We're American and participating in this system. We prop it up by paying taxes and continuing to buy goods and services from companies whose focus is shareholder profits, not better performance for the buyers or better pay or conditions for the workers. This is how it's designed to work: a ton of American companies are incorporated in Delaware because of the financial benefits they get, and in Delaware, a company has a legal obligation to work towards shareholder profit. That's the law on the books. There's nothing about improving product/service quality, but we've got laws to make sure the money people get the lion's share of the benefit from everybody's labor.

There are plenty of Americans who didn't vote for this guy and hate literally everything about him and what he stands for, but until we recognize our complicity in the way the country works and start changing our shopping habits, there just aren't any innocent Americans.

  • I was skeptical when I saw "Exciting bat news!!!" but it turns out that there was no exaggeration. This is exciting bat news!

  • Let's go with "can't understand," as in, "she gave a satisfactory explanation of the gnepine hypothesis, and he can't understand it." Because, as you've pointed out, it doesn't seem that hard, so maybe he should be crying as she leaves

  • Friend of mine used to work for a 24-hour big box store in Michigan. He was working an evening shift after a big snow dump when two college kids came through his lane with trash bags, a container of vaseline, and a bottle of vodka. They didn't even spring for the goggles!
