  • It makes sense. The investment in and development of EVs and EV manufacturing has been fully kneecapped by the American auto and oil industries.

If China came in, the American auto industry would be destroyed overnight due to the lack of competitive vehicles.

The propaganda of "Chinese vehicles are cheap and dangerous" only works when people don't have the product in front of them.

  • The worst part is that any bail out would only be enough funding for a few months with the rate they are burning money at compared to their CURRENT revenue.

  • I see you are no longer interested in a rational discussion. Get blocked.

  • America is already doing more harm to itself than any external nation is, so you don't have to worry if you want it's people to suffer.

  • Brother, according to that logic, YouTube is a national security risk. I was refering to things the American govt labels as a national security risk to protect corporate interests.

  • What is the national security concern?

  • I can't wait for this to be announced as a threat to national security after creating mild competition for YouTube.

  • I guess we will see if those numbers are outweighed by general democrats and independents who don't have a home of their own, jobs, or retirement savings and see the changes they want reflected in Socialist politician platforms.

  • If your argument is to not rely 100% on polls, just say that lol.

DSA is going to keep on fighting and winning, at least sometimes. I am going to back whoever is against Republicans with my vote, and I hope you do to, even if they have the word Socialism in their platform.

  • Your take right there is exactly your misunderstanding of polls. Those are not comparable due to what they are polling.

Polls on views of an ideology and party polls of a candidate are a bit different.

  • By misunderstanding what a poll indicates?

What this poll says to me is that Socialism is not seen as a boogeyman AS MUCH as it used to be. Which is pretty damn good news for anybody using the word in their campaign.

  • Brother, a black man with the middle name of Hussein won a presidential election.

Yes, racism and mysogyny were challenges in the 2024 race, but it was the Democratic policy that was the primary issue.

Look at what Obama offered in his race and compare it to what Kamala offered in her race. That lack of promise accompanied with her refusal to split from Biden on foreign policy (Gaza) was enough to both not draw in enough voters and push some over to Trump.

Take a look at Trump's policies as well. We who are here know he was lying, but to the uneducated voter, it sounded good enough to vote for over the other candidate.

  • Polls on views of an ideology and party polls of a candidate are a bit different.

Regardless, these are real views from people who respond to polling opportunities, so they will most likely vote in kind.

You can absolutely make the argument that the sample size is too small to get an accurate read on how the US would vote in a presidential run, but it is not really a reason to say that DSA candidates will never win.
