  • Selfhosting porn is the most neckbeard gooner thing I've heard of :))

  • What architecture do you suggest for complicated systems?

  • Thank you for your explanation.

My work revolves mostly around large enterprise software, so I guess this fits me.

But can you elaborate why not write a game engine with it? Game engines are also very complex.Do you say because of the performance hit of multiple layers of abstractions?

  • I'm specifically talking about the "Clean Architecture" design as described by Robert Martin though.

  • I'm not talking about the "clean code" approach. I'm talking about "clean architecture" for software design.

I have also heard things about how the multiple levels of abstraction in Clean Architecture can lead to worse performance, but we can always optimize the bottlenecks and skip the abstractions if needed. I also don't have any actual benchmark of how much is the performance hit.

  • Programming @programming.dev

Is Clean Architecture actually good? What's your experience?

  • The last update was obviously vibe coded. At least all the UI was fucked up. All sizings were messed up, colors were inverted.

And don't get me started on continuously moving pre-existing community features into "paid only". First boards was almost deprecated, then playbooks.

  • You have bo idea how much of a pain in the ass mattermost is. Basically corporate trying to leech off of opensource. I decided to make it the messenger in our org 3 4 years ago. But I might move away from it if it starts acting up more.

  • Loved it. concise and straight to the point.

  • Gitea or forgejo are super solid and super lightweight with a sqlite db

  • Can it be used for agentic workflows or just simple Q and A?

  • Sure. Done! I'm not sure if it's displaying correctly since it's a crosspost tho. It's not showing in Voyager at least.

Finally migrate your contacts from Outlook to Thunderbird!

  • What model are you running?

  • What kinds of things do you guys automate?

  • Still will be overpriced crap

  • I personally love MX for that

  • Thanks! So probably, we can conclude that he's getting paid corporate money. Good for him, just a shame if others use it.

Btw, a very smart person can still make very stupid decisions.

  • Claims are easy. Actions are what matters. rewriting FOSS program with GPL license under MIT license is only possible from either a corporate backed project (because it makes takeover of a lot of FOSS infra so much simpler for them), or an extremely stupid team. both cases are equally bad.

  • No it's just a news about the pointless, corporate rust rewrite of GNU coreutils being a shitshow.
