  • I was worried about that too but my hands are fine actually. I use lukewarm water and it appears to actually help since I haven't had any eczema flareups on my hands for a long time.

  • Admittedly this post was more of a rant but it's still helpful to know everyone's answers. I major in microbiology and I know for sure that everything, everywhere is teaming with life and my hygienic habits are informed by that. One of my biggest reasons for wiping everything down all the time is to reduce the chance of spending three or four days in hospital shitting in a bucket and chugging gatorade. It's unusual to die from a dirty doorknob (covid 3000 rubs it's hands) but it's not fun and a waste of time to be sick. Sometimes that's unavoidable ofc, but I take pains to reduce my chances, even if it's just a little.

  • United States' west coast and Alaska's panhandle are now Canadian. There is now only one Korea. United States of Europe exists now. Russia is broken up into many separate states regarding the population that lives there. A new state is created somewhere inside China on the border that as now... Uyghurstan I guess.

  • Right now it's biochem/microbiology. Found an entire lecture series on the bay and have almost completed it. Current lecture is on codons/anti-codons, all of them are 3 base pairs with Uracil/Thymine (resp.), Cytosine, Adenine or Guanine (TCAG which I like to remember as 3CAG; FREE PALESTINE)

    Transport RNAs are specific to one of twenty amino acids by the anti-codon on it's base. The tRNA attach to their amino acid and slot into the ribosome in accordance to the codons on the messenger RNA it's translating. This creates a chain of amino acids that naturally fold as it's created because some aminos are polar and attach to each other. This is what is known as protein folding.

    Like anal beads and some beads are magnetic, so when you pull them out some attach to each other creating loops and bends.

  • A couple weeks ago I was cooking and listening to Kendrick Lamar when Mother I Sober started playing. The build up always gets me to some degree, but that time I had to stop what I was doing and let it all go... I'm lucky my roommate wasn't there lol, he'd probably think I'd cut my self or something.

    Well, I know what that feels like. Like you've run out of tears. I don't know why that happens but I was in that state for a long time and it finally loosened up when I was talking to my therapist. My parents are the kind of people to talk shit about family (like, just a bit better than 4chan) after having dinner with them or whatever. One time my sister just couldn't take it anymore and started crying in the back seat because they were being so horrible... well, I realized how much that pissed me off years later when I was talking about it with my therapist. It really surprised me; before it was a just a dim memory of concern for my sister and annoyance at my parents but talking about it made me cry with rage over how shitty my parents are. I'm tearing up when I'm typing this... fuck you mom and dad. Fucking assholes. /rant

  • It's really ironic that public transit service is reduced on holidays when more people are likely to need it. It's especially grievous for people that still have to get to work... it speaks a lot to how many city councils treat public transit, as if it wasn't one of the few things that keeps a city going.
