Proud owner of Miez (born 2013)

and previous owner of Koda and Lilly (2013&2021)

M&K ended up fighting all the time. I then took in L as a new playmate for Koda. Luckily K&L found a new home with friends

  • Yeah the tucked in ear and that gaze, pure fear. Thanks for the cutout, I set is as thumbnail.

  • He's always grumpy for at least three days when changing location. Until then there is no cuddling with him

  • Exactly

  • Phonetic is [ˈpʏŋktçən]. It consists of two parts Pünkt-chen.

The "ü" sound really doesn't exist in English. If you know any french, the u in 'tu' (french for 'you') is pronounced similarily.

I'm guessing the 'nkt' is the hardest part to pronounce since you really have to have each letter audible.

'ch' is like a cats hissing sound.

'en' is pronounced the same way as ending without the ding.

Translation: Little dot/dots due to her face markings. 'Punkt' means 'dot', and if we wanna make a smaller version of a word (and/or cuter), a 'u' becomes an 'ü' ('a' becomes 'ä', 'o' becomes 'ö'), and the ending -chen is added.

E.g. Haar (hair) becomes Härchen, the ä is pronounced the same as the a in man, but long. In contrast, Herrchen (as in owner of a pet) is pronounced basically the same but with a small short vocal and a sharply pronounced r.

    Hope that helps.

Edit: If you know how to pronounce a/o/u, you already know what your lips must do for ä/ö/ü. However the tongue and lower jar make for a different sound.

  • It's more the other way around really. We hope she'll get bigger so that she outgrows her hind leg issues.

  • Mayhem is her middle name. She's 3.5 kg, but pure muscle and at times even stronger than Koda (4.5 kg). Looking forward to her jumping skills. Currently she is showing me that she trusts me:

  • That's a happy little wiggle. Both her and her brother do this. Angry is not as "smooth" if you know what I mean

  • Well the ones using AI to do the reviews for them are actually at fault here

  • Around here, superstition says black cats bring bad luck. People really are that shallow.

  • Yeah but I would have expected her to start growling and hissing. Nothing. Just to put that into perspective.

  • Advantages of these specific bodies I have:

    • way easier to put on, as the strings cannot be twisted etc.
    • more secure due to the usage of velcro fasteners + only one clip string. At least here, those clip strings are standardized to open at a certain amount of pull applied to it. The goal is that the cat cannot hang itself. Only one clip instead of two means the force doesn't need to pull open two strings at once in the worst case
    • also more secure due to the velcro + clip usage around the neck: I have personally seen a cat that somehow got her front paw into her collar, which caused her not to be able to move and especially not to free herself. Since the clip strings use basically the same principle, I guess this could also happen with them, with the leg causing just not enough pull for it to open. Why does this even matter? Well, from my experience you first need to get your cat used to the harness without attaching the leash. They need to be able to comfortly walk around, say, your whole apartment, before you can use it outside. And this is done best by having it attached for several hours, and not having to watch them every single minute is just way easier.
    • I paid attention to get a body harness that is breathable but still sturdy. My cat has thick furr (due to having some maine coon genes in her). It is a loose mesh instead of tightly nitted.
  • I have added a pic of the three lf them now. Yeah, especially Indira looking like a witch's cat, bus also the "beheaded" pic, which was really popular at the time, as somebody made a meme out of it:

  • At the time I had three cats: Koda and Miez (brother and sister) plus Lilly.

Unfortunatly Koda was stressing out Miez due to being a dick, and all measures I took failed, so I had to separate them. Since Koda stole Lilly's heart, and he would never tell but she also stole his heart, I decided they should stay together.

Luckily a friend of mine's family took them in, so besides getting some pics and vids, I also get to visit and sit them occasionally.

I also foster cats though. Had only one yet, a beautiful black kitty called Indira, but might get a second one soon.

Edit: first pic of the three of them added

  • Milk comes in those boxes in supermarkets here, it holds 12 tetra packs of a liter each.
