  • I love you too, Dad

  • “This matters because we’re rapidly approaching a world where AI systems will manage increasingly important decisions.”

How about we just don’t do that?

  • This is actually a very interesting article, the experiment demonstrates the current limitation of “AI” (so really just LLM). Most people (including investors and executives) have no idea what is the reality of the tech they are hyping up

  • Of all the jobs you could try to fake, why choose dentist?

It needs costly equipment, vast medical knowledge and high precision with you hand. At the same time, it is very high risk, if you mess up something.

  • I read about this a few years ago, and even saw them in a mall in Western EU.

The whole thing is just bio-data mining, and they started by preying on some poor regions in Africa

  • This is very true. The manager is also overworked and busy, and they hear a lot of complaints from their team. People are very different, some complain all the time for nothing, but others stay silent while their back is on fire. It takes a long time to get to know somebody, so you can confidently tell the difference. But if issues start showing up, they know there is a real problem, and they can allocate resources to fix it.

  • “They're made out of meat“

  • Being an incel is also probably a mental illness

  • Great example, makes the contrast even more obvious. Insane people are controlling the world, and we are wondering why it’s going to shit

  • Being a billionaire (aka wealth hoarder) is a mental illness.

If they were hoarding anything else to this extent, going way beyond their rational needs, e.g. billions of tables, pokemon cards or toilet papers, everybody would know they are insane. But as it’s money, somehow they are supposed to be the smartest people in the world, and we should worship them.

  • Btw this is how it’s used in some countries (eg., Hungary, Japan, China, and a few others from Asia). All other date formats are very strange and confusing for us

  • mph:

  • Has anybody ever been on an all-inclusive, agency organized group trip that wasn’t mid at best?

These are all about penny-fucking, and ripping off tourists. I look at the pictures in the article and get PTSD from memories of some childhood trip to Bulgaria. At least we had the excuse of being a working family from a poor ex-socialist country, and any beach and hotel was fancy to us. But somebody from a developed country in 2025 pays for something like this, I don’t know what to say to them.

They could open their browser and book a cheaper trip, staying in an apartment on some Greek or Italian beach, and eating the best local foods. But these old British boomers are lazy and also probably incapable of grilling a salmon steak if their life depended on it. Or at least lift up their asses and walk 200 meters to a restaurant nearby, with edible food.

I would rather keep working in the office during a hot summer week, than go on a trip like this with half a dozen relatives.
