  • Meanwhile 99% of the people I want to talk to are contacts in my phone or businesses with caller id.

And that's why I don't feel too bad moving on to the next. If I'm calling someone, they had to have called me at least once already. If they're too lazy to save the number and want to play silly games, I have better uses of my time. I was just curious of the thought process.

It's when they detect a voice that the auto dialer connects you with the scammer.

I just hang up as soon as I hear that little "bloop" sound and that cuts out 90% of them.

  • You purposely pick up and sit in silence? Not even a "Yo", "Sup", or "Aye"?

I wondered why people have been doing that when I call them at work. Sucks to be them, they've been waiting 2 weeks to 2 months for an appointment. I just hang up and move on to the next. If they didn't want to talk they should have let it go to voicemail.

  • https://notebooklm.google.com/ is really handy for various things, you can throw a bunch of documents into it and then ask questions and chat interactively about their contents.

Nice, thanks! I've been looking for something I can stuff a bunch of technical manuals into and ask it to recite specifications or procedures. It even gave me the document and pages it got the information from so I could verify. That's really all I ever wanted from "AI".

  • Straight down the sink. It's a rental.

  • If it was just that one thing, I wouldn't either. But I'm impressed with their half-assing ability. Last year I was mounting an outside mini-split unit and found where when they turned a porch into a bedroom, they didn't bother building an external wall. They put up studs, drywall on the inside, nothing but foamboard and vinyl siding on the outside.

  • That's exactly what I'm finishing today. That foam board works pretty good and is super easy to work with. Also make sure the air seal is good. I used foam tape where the hatch rests against the frame.

When I crawled up in the attic, I found where the previous owner got halfway done and just gave up. There's still 4-5 unopened rolls of insulation just setting in the corner.

  • Lemon Grass also. It should grow well there.

I grow a bunch and don't really notice it keeping mosquitos away from the area. But I'll pick some, crush it up in my hands, and rub it on myself and the cats. Works as good as most bug sprays without feeling like I need a shower after.

  • Just handing them money? No, I don't. I don't have much myself.

But I do work in a downtown area near a shelter and see a lot of the same people pass by every day. I'll give them cold water and extra food if I have it. Certain others I will let go through my scrap metal for stuff they can sell to recyclers, and occasionally I'll hire someone for the day to help me clean.

I still feel like a dick setting in my air conditioned truck ignoring the person setting outside in 100F+ weather with a "help me" sign.

  • The other one is blasting a 1sq mile radius with music from a vehicle.

That kinda goes back to the OP's title. It wouldn't be as bad if it didn't sound terrible. I miss the early 00s when every 3rd or 4th car had giant subwoofers. I may not like what you're playing but at least it sounds decent.

McElroy was shot and killed in broad daylight as he sat with his wife Trena in his pickup truck on Skidmore's main street.[2] He was struck by bullets from at least two different firearms, in front of a crowd of people estimated as numbering between 30 and 46.[1] Despite the many witnesses, nobody came forward to say who shot him. To date, no one has been charged in connection with McElroy's death.

  • No, they are spider bros. They kill brown recluses, black widows, and other things that are dangerous. Typically do not mess with humans unless seriously provoked.

  • “The Democratic party has gone so far to the left that people just can’t relate to it anymore and the Republican party is trying to go totally to the right.” — Glenn Danzig

As much as I love their music. Glen Danzig has never been one of the world's great thinkers.

  • Taking out ~10 screws to remove the bottom panel and access the battery? That's par for most laptops.

  • Whats shitty about the guy? Because knowing nothing else, getting arrested for demanding ICE show a warrant immediately gets my vote.

  • Bottom.

  • No; I don't think there will be.

  • Very well could be. One day he just busted through the cat door like a cowboy into a saloon, plopped down on the kitchen floor, and declared that he lived there. So I have no idea where he actually came from.

  • I lost my boy Coco literally minutes after this picture was taken. Out in the woods, miles from home. I went out for 40 days straight looking for him. Hiked all over the area, brought friends, borrowed drones, got shot at by meth cooks. Eventually the 41st day, he was just setting at the entrance to the nature reserve ready to go home.

She looks like she's at least part Turkish Van like Coco. They are Smart, sweet, loyal cats.

Edit. My bad, just realized this wasn't one of the cat comms. I should have dulled that down.

  • You 3D print something with no serial and it’s untraceable.

Except for all the metal parts they used a debit card/paypal to buy.
