I live for 90s TV sitcoms

  • That makes me so freaking sad, and the MLM just proves that they know they want something more, but are limited now in how they can. They can always go back to school, but that's near impossible while you have kids still at home, let alone the cost of it. MLMs take such advantage of that wanting to be successful and proud of what you do, while at the same time siphoning what little you have out of your household.

  • I had one friend in college who was going to be a scientist of some sort, chemistry I think. She pushed really hard until year 3 or so and then fell in love and decided to drop out, and then went to a 2 year school years later to become a nurse. So much potential immediately wasted. I can't pretend to know her exact motivations, but it always made me sad.

And hey, ton of respect for nurses, but anyone from the rural America knows that it's a thankless job that they are taken advantage of, and it's specifically because it's a "fallback" career that is "acceptable" for women with families.

I think that's what makes me sad. Fuck gender stereotypes, go be a scientist if that's your dream, don't fall into what everyone expects that you'll do.

  • You are free to have your own instance, as I see that you do, and say whatever you like there.

Everyone else is free to defederate or block you. No one is required to listen to you.

Feel free to make your own edgy memes community and gain a following, you are not owed other people's communities.

  • Wow, can't have a stupid joke like this without dozens of people grandstanding here. This is what fuels conservatives, people calling out how you should feel horrible for chuckling at a stupid joke. Virtue signalling only encourages people to leave liberal groups because they feel stifled, so thr group becomes even more insular as people leave.

Everyone here is taking this way way way too seriously. It's a dumb joke. Laugh or don't, and move on.

  • A yellow-coded curfew is in effect. This is for your security.

  • Yeah if they aren't ready we would see GTA 6 flop hard. Personally I'm not getting it until pc release, and even then we'll see if I have to buy on their shitty launcher.

  • Hey, you don't even know all the different ways I can disappoint my partner, I got variety.

  • Be careful, minimum warped siding, but if that wall gets too hot

  • it's a learning curve, but it's well worth it, and much nicer on the wallet for sure.

    Breathe the free air again

  • Right? Work is not the place for it. If you need a mental health day, take a mental health day. You do what you need to, but I'm here just trying to get through the day.

I've been struggling with a loss recently personally, and took a couple days off for it. My boss knew and approved, but I'm not going to drop that on my coworkers. They have their own stresses and drama, they have their own personal demons they need to work on. Last thing they need is me sadly dumping on them. Friends are friends, coworkers are not.

  • I don't think it's because people don't care, but it's more that the older you get the more you realize how everyone has baggage and we each have to deal with our own. So not that others don't care, but more that everyone is dealing with something hard and traumatic, and trying not to burden others with it.

I love gen z for how empathetic they are, but I'll be curious to see if it continues through to adulthood.

  • Something like 70% of adults are lactose intolerant. It's well known milk was very much an infant thing and not really for adults as we evolved.

However we have a very powerful dairy lobby which tries to tell us we're all wrong and we do want the extra cheese.

  • Plus a key point folks forget is that if people are worried about scraping, your instance is literally sending out all of your info to whoever wants to listen. They don't even need to scrape, just federate as normal. Never share out info you don't want three letter agencies listening to

  • I didn't say it'd be overnight.

  • Steak looks great! I don't think you're supposed to grill underneath anything though

  • Supply rises to meet demand, driving competition

  • Yeah there's a lot of doom here, but I keep saying that there are reasons that they are locking in 5 year price guarantees, it's because they know it's going to crash back down, whether it be bubble or normalization or Chinese. It'll take some time, but it's not forever.

  • Which absolutely no one does. Everyone uses it through chat apps. They just wall gardened to which chat apps and how. Once again taking the free creations of its users and monetizing them

  • A good reminder to make sure you cancelled that subscription
