  • The forgotten war on the Walkman

  • I wanted to stop using my Walkman when I got a Discman, but my main use for portable music was during long walks and commutes and the Discman worked like crap if I was moving around at all. The skippy little expensive bastard got put back on the shelf, and I kept using cassettes until the portable MP3 player era finally hit.

  • What's a process where you prefer the old way of doing things instead of how it's done now?

  • I use locally stored digital media, but I still love my shelves of DVDs, CDs, and paper books. The CDs get ripped to FLAC and mostly left on the shelf thereafter, but I do still enjoy taking a movie off the shelf and loading it into the player.

  • As a kid in the 1990s I was really hyped up about the concept of VR, but lacked the ridiculously expensive gear to try any of the interesting stuff that was out there.

  • He was wonderful in Real Genius, but to be fair he was playing the smarmy self-entitled asshole who is convinced he's the greatest.

    His performance as the voice of the car was the best thing about the bad Knight Rider reboot.

  • She's the absolute worst Wednesday Addams, but that whole show in general isn't great and anyone would probably end up sucking given that material.

  • I've been watching late-night talk shows for 40-something years, from Carson to Colbert, and I truly believe nothing in the history of the format has come close to the awesomeness of Craig Ferguson's show.

  • The most entertaining thing Gal Gadot has done was getting cast as Wonder Woman, which forced all the other characters from the fictional island of Themiscyra to speak in an accent like hers in order for her accent to make sense. Watching Robin Wright and everyone else playing Amazons trying to sound Israeli was worth the movie ticket price.

  • I hated the Kylo Ren character and didn't care for those sequels, but Adam Driver's Saturday Night Live appearances are absolutely amazing. I'd love to see him in more comedy.

  • Check out the film Can You Ever Forgive Me? It's Melissa McCarthy in a far more dramatic role than her usual (but still darkly funny) and she is amazing in it. She gets to do so much more than her usual schtick.

  • The first thing in which I saw him was the Doctor Who episode The Lodger and I thought he was likeable enough in that. I could never stand him in anything else, his late-night talk show run was a blight on humanity, and even the return appearance of his Who character in a second episode was entirely unnecessary.

  • Indiana Jones is the role Harrison Ford was born to play. Indy gets thrown into some large-scale bullshit and fumbles through it with a persistent "the fuck is going on?" vibe, which is basically the same as when Ford shows up on set to lead a blockbuster movie.

  • Yeah, that was pretty much everyone in Season 1. The whole show was trying to figure out how to be itself.
