  • We can't prove a lot of things, like:

    • Flying Spaghetti Monster is real
    • the whole universe is shaped like a Christmas tree

And I could go more and more absurd. Undisprovable claims are boring points of discussion because there are only beliefs, no hard facts.

  • Fuck that cancer site giving you the option to either give them all data or go one by one over 200 "partners" and disable them.

  • I was hoping to find a comment with more upvotes than the post.

  • Well, that's exactly what evolution optimizes for - the good enoughest of all good enough solutions.

  • If they meant to say it, they should've said it, shouldn't they? Cause what you're saying and what they're saying are two very distinct things.

  • Well, some people should not do drugs. It can cause all kinds of conditions that you may have genetic predispositions for.

One notable case: drug-induced psychosis which causes (among others) delusions and severe confusion. Sounds like one might pour a deadly acid in their ass when delusional and severely confused.

  • These two generally cancel each other out. Not perfectly, but a dose cocaine makes your drunkenness symptoms not as bad and vice-versa. So if you ever want to win a drinking competition, do a line of cocaine beforehand.

  • Clementine is one beautiful name!

  • Ah, the joys of using Black Mirror as a tutorial instead of a cautionary tale.

Granted, that episode had a pretty tame ending compared to most.

  • I don't think the point is that you can sue them if it only lasts 13 billion years, but the under current conditions it's projected lifetime is 14 billion years. Which is a very big number, meaning it's pretty much guaranteed it won't break in 100, 1000 or 10000 years.

  • Yeah, I think so, in my language we simply call it TV.

  • Same for batteries.

  • Any volunteers for testing the claim?

  • Fucking dwarves, man, breaking the laws of physics for fun.

  • Yes, TV has gotten worse. When I was a kid, a 90 minute movie had one ad in the middle, if it was longer, there were usually two. Recently I saw TV after god knows how many years and there was an ad every 10 minutes.

And yes, the really short content sucks because it damages the attention span. But it's a trend, it's not like it started with this generation, our attention is attacked constantly and has been for a while.

I wouldn't hate on brain rot that much, sure, it's stupid, but hey - you had your own stupid thing when you were young, as did every other generation.

Steam generally shows you what they think will interest you, I don't see any gooner porn there, that one might be on you.

Yes, you're getting old, yelling at clouds. Not a bad thing as long you don't make others feel bad because of it.

  • I always read the whole command, otherwise it could do whatever. I generally let it have read+write access in the project directory (it's in git anyway) and manually review every command it wants to run.

  • I mean, if a single distro is what we're after, isn't there already ChromeOS?
