  • Not eating animals is not a wacky contrarian position either, and I'm not even vegan

  • looks like it's made by the Jellyfin team, by I could be misunderstanding the meaning of the verified checkmark

  • Thanks for the info

  • With Syncthing my smartphone and PC would be perfectly synched (from what I know), but isn't exactly what Immich does. With it you can remove photos one your phone and still view them when the PC is on

  • I know how to use docker (a bit) and I have already installed Immich with it some time ago, but it would be nice to have an easier alternative, especially for less tech inclined people

  • It has seprataed installable versions for the server and and for the client. I use the flatpak app to host my stuff on my pc

  • I wanted to have a little bit of feedback before opening an issue or a discussion there

  • Thanks man, I'm gonna try it asap

  • Selfhosted @lemmy.world

A case for an Immich Flatpak

  • Why the downvotes??

  • Investigate CoMaps... There's some drama around Organic Maps due to bad leadership

  • Fairphone is probably going to be my new phone when I upgrade.

  • Better SOC and cameras. If it has to last 5+ years these have to be very good on release date.

  • Well said, the problem really is that Signal isn't federated. I'm keeping an eye on Matrix for now.

  • Sure, but if I switch from Signal to another potentially better messaging app down the line my chat history will get fragmented

  • I agree and it would be much better if people would use Signal instead of WhatsApp, but I think there's still one problem.

Due to how messaging platforms work, every time you switch you lose pretty much everything (messages, media, etc) This makes switching very hard even for a nerd like me, because if Signal is not "perfect" it means that I will have to switch again at some point and lose everything again.

  • Same thing here in Italy

  • What is wrong with Jellyfin's TV app? I use it on my Android TV and I don't have any problems

  • You don't even have to use docker for Jellyfin, you can install the server as a regular program

  • Can someone clue me in on the reason why anyone would prefer Plex instead of Jellyfin?
