🍀Help me help you is my motto💖

As one of Fedecan's volunteer admin team, I'm here to make this place a cool and comfortable to hang out for our trustworthy Fediverse users.🤗

While I can't promise that I won't make the occasional mistake here or two I'll always try my best to avoid repeating them and adhere to the best ethical standards that exists!🙌🌻

Alt Accs:

If you'd like to see more extensively detailed posts and system analysis deep dives please consider donating or buying me a coffee🤗

  • Gods, I really hope they consider Linux or at least SteamOS for software support.

Having my Logitech and Corsair mice without the ability to actively rebind anything on my Linux host (without the use of Windows VMs) is painfully annoying.

  • Second verse same as the first💩

  • Kind of a pointless comparison as we all know that x11 is EOL and Valve is hightailing it with significant improvements with Proton + Wayland.

A no-brainer comparison seeing the Wayland performance in the lead tbh.

Flathub Now Rejects AI-Assisted Apps and Submissions

    linuxiac.com /flathub-now-rejects-ai-assisted-apps-and-submissions/
  • Anyone know any good alternatives?

  • As children like to draw and doodle on whatever regardless on whether they should or shouldn't (like the wall), allowing children to 'desecrate' flags makes sense.

  • While this is satire, it's difficult to imagine the courts accepting that license laundering is acceptible especially with companies with proprietary software actively suing others for even mentioning relicensing their own proprietary software (hyperbole but assholes like Nintendo actually exist).

Allowing the laundering of open source software would blow the whole house open for rewrites or am I missing something?

A potential dystopia I'm imagining is where only the biggest billionaire backed companies own the software and refuse to share anything screwing over all consumers and competitors (especially with toxifying the open source community). I hate to say it but we might not be far from this hellscape of a future.

  • Glad to see the C.A.T. Distribution Network is still strong and ongoing😼

  • This seems like a solution looking for a problem.

How can I or the people around me trust this when it's licensed under unlicense?

If governments and companies decide to adopt this I feel like only then will this become a real useful tool.

As it is currently, it's an interesting idea that needs a bit more development time on the initial concept or pitch.

  • Just like everyone has already done I'd also recommend Codeberg/Forgejo👌

  • Hey thanks for providing the article🤗🫡

We Hacked & Overclocked a PS5 to Install Linux and Steam

  • Jon Seager as the VP of Engineering at Canonical

Seager explained in this morning's update while there won't be a "global kill switch" for AI features on Ubuntu, their plan is to deliver all the AI features via Snap packages. So removing AI features on Ubuntu will come down to removing Snaps.

    lmao

At this point if snaps are being installed on your system you might want to have a talk with the admin/IT guy, unless you are the admin in which case you do you🤷‍♀️. Carry on good sir/lady/person.

The AI bros on the other hand are probably drooling all over this as AI and Ubuntu basically goes hand in hand.

  • Agreed👍

  • So you're going on a diet then?

  • I mean if it's though the window that's fine.

If I need to unlock the windows through Windows, let me go, it's my time to isekai✌️
