    It says "Email and work apps are not offered through the Commostore app store". So you can't receive email unless you sideload an email app. And you could also sideload a browser as well to open a link. At which point you just have a smartphone.

  • It's more that all the interesting things that come from prime numbers don't really work if you include 1 as a prime. So every time you talked about primes you would have to say "something something prime number, other than 1, yadda yadda".

    For example: The Fundamental Theorem of Arithmetic states that every natural number can be expressed as a finite product of primes, and that prime factorization is unique.

    So

     
            12 = 2^2 x 3

    is the only way to express 12 as a product of primes. But if we include 1 as a prime, then

     
            12 = 1 x 2^2 x 3
        = 1^2 x 2^2 x 3
        = 1^3 x 2^2 x 3

    etc. There are infinite prime factorization of every natural number, and the most interesting part of the Fundamental Theorem of Arithmetic no longer holds.

  • Maybe Uber should be responsible for background checks of their drivers and hold them accountable for their actions and be able to fire them for misconduct. But that might require hiring drivers as actual employees. And then Uber could issue company vehicles.

    Oh wait, I'm describing taxi companies that already existed before Uber.

    The fact that we allow Uber/Lyft to operate as a way to skirt regulations that were put in place to keep people safe, and then trust Uber will implement work around solutions like this is ridiculous.

  • Everything in the solar system (even the Son) orbit around the center of mass of everything in the solar system. This epicenter is just outside of the Son, on the side that Jupiter is. So the Son wobbles by a little bit more than 1 of its radii.
