  • I'm liking it, in moderation. Just rolling out of bed, turning on my computer and making coffee on company time right away is very time efficient. It's also nice that I can work in peace and ignore coworkers whenever I need to.

The downside is that it's pretty annoying to collaborate on things, especially if it's with more than one person at a time. Gotta schedule a meeting, even if in person it would just be a thing of walking over and talking to them for 5mins.

My ideal mix is 4 days wfh : 1 day in-office. I get all the talking out of the way on that one day (plus it's enough socialization for the whole week) and the rest I just exist in peace.

  • It's a great deal too! My own domain was 50€ for 10 years, and Purelymail hosting is 10 bucks per year.

  • huh, is it restrictive to say that you need some number of legs to be able to walk?

  • Genus Chrysopelea, commonly referred to as flying snakes. Most snakes are perfectly fine swimmers, so I bet that Genus can swim as well.

  • I always love it when a movie starts setting up a certain story beat or twist that makes me go "wow I wish they did x, but I have no idea how they'd pull that off!" and then they do exactly that in ways I could have never predicted. Gone Girl is one of my favorite movies because of that.

  • Y'all should use SponsorBlock

  • +1 for curry! My favorite paste is Cock Brand Curry paste for 3€ per 200g, which is 4 portions. Absolutely worth it though, as it's really the only seasoning you need and it turns out perfect every time. I usually throw in frozen Cauliflower and smoked Tofu.

If I'm feeling fancy, I also start the curry by searing a roughly chopped onion in a big scoop of vegan butter and mixing in a bit of flour, then slowly stirring in the coconut milk similar to how you make bechamel sauce. The flour thickens the curry up, which really improves the texture and shortens the cooking time, as you don't have to wait for water to evaporate and thicken it up naturally.

  • I'm playing Cyberpunk 2077 for the first time but also watching a playthrough of it on YouTube (making sure that I'm always ahead of the playthrough in my own story progression though). It's really cool how much foreshadowing that game has!

  • I've been using it. Put it as the default search engine on all my devices, even my work hardware. Before that, I just had the AI features toggled off, but those settings don't stick when clearing all cookies (which I have to do way too often).

I have also left reddit 2 years ago and never visited again. So no idea what your point is?

  • Is it essential if you already have 5 other machines that do the same thing tho

  • All the suggestions in this thread are good, but for anyone who doesn't want to self-host or change providers entirely (because changing your email is an absolute pain in the ass):

At least get a different mail client. You don't have to use the official Gmail App to access Gmail! I personally really like FairEmail, because it's open source, has no unnecessary bells and whistles, and just works. It takes less than 5mins to download it and move Gmail over there completely, with no risk of losing any data or missing any mails.
