  • The TikToker knew what they were doing.

Edit: this could read like I support the idea of trying some random shit on the internet to solve a problem. On the contrary, I think the TikToker knew that turmeric stains and wanted to cause some chaos.

  • Apparently it’s the hose that’s the problem, something about it breaking down or whatnot.

  • A friend in middle school invited me to sleep over at her house and proceeded to show me that movie, or rather her big sister fast-forwarded through all of the “boring” parts so we only saw the “good” parts. I did not sleep that night.

  • I have one that has the full quote (I think) from him on it: “Read the books they don’t want you to read. That’s where the good stuff is.” ❤️

  • I’m currently reading (listening to) the books after watching the show and the books are also DOPE. I know some things were changed but man the show had phenomenal casting.

  • Yay, another choral singer! My degrees are in music but I don’t play my childhood instrument anymore so instead I sing in a chorus. People think singers aren’t good musicians as a rule and that’s total garbage. We sing some really difficult stuff as a chorus and you have to know what your note sounds like before you sing it; you can’t rely on just knowing the fingering for your instrument. It’s so much fun but also a great mental challenge. I’m thankful to have it in my life as my intellectual musical outlet.

  • You’re getting so much pushback but I agree with you! No tub cushions, and I don’t like the feeling of dripping so baths and showers for me are pretty utilitarian. I do it because I have to. I’ll relax on the couch.

  • Gotcha. My aesthetician (who I must explain helped me save my adult-acne-ridden skin) suggested Neutragena Sensitive Skin Moisturizer with a separate physical sunscreen on top. Reddit swears by Cerave, but she says their method just strips your skin’s natural moisture barrier and then attempts to add it back, so she was not a fan. I’m not sure if Neutragena is available in the UK, but when I was there a few years ago and my luggage was delayed, I bought something that had “simple” or “nature” (or both?) in the title and was a white and light green label, and it seemed comparable.

  • If it works for you, why change it? Cream vs. lotion vs. moisturizer or whatever is probably 50% thickness and 50% marketing.

  • She has such a pretty face!

  • OMG Grandpa Cat 🥹😍

  • A couple of years ago, we were coming home from visiting my in-laws in Florida and I sat next to a woman on the plane who found out we were “going home” to SF and wanted to talk my ear off about everything that’s scary there. First of all, I didn’t want to talk to you anyway, lady, I just want to read my book. But since you asked, no, I don’t know what you mean when you are talking about how dangerous it is. I played it as simply confused about what she was talking about, and eventually she got confused at my response and left me alone. I wasn’t going to be successful convincing her; I knew that. But playing it that way was non-confrontational and still seemed to have the desired effect, which was to put a chink in the armor of her misinformed opinions.

  • I think they must have a fundamental misunderstanding about how big Los Angeles is. Like, truly, it is monstrous. And even when the city ends, it keeps going.

  • Yeah what is up with that? There are so many of those stupid stickers lately. There is no way so many cars are being driven by student drivers. I told my kids that when they’re learning to drive in a few years, there’s no fucking way I’ll put one on my car.

  • Also, if you have good friends, they may intentionally introduce you to people they think would be a good fit for you.

  • Knock it off with that making me feel old stuff, geeze man. (Holy shit, it’s been 15 years?!)

  • There was a big scandal some years back because an Apple employee left a prototype phone at the bar/restaurant next to the campus, so they definitely do it. I’m a bit surprised that they didn’t crack down harder after that incident, but to be fair to this guy, he didn’t take it out and about and just took it home. I can’t say I’d be overly worried about something happening to it if it was just at my house, but I also don’t have people crashing with me frequently…

  • I never used Goodreads except to occasionally look up the name of an audiobook narrator or to read reviews; I never had an account. For me, BookWyrm fills the need for me in terms of tracking my own reading, and especially my TBR list. I don’t use it for anything else. I don’t post on a feed, and I barely make my ratings public. So yeah… probably not what you’re looking for but that’s all I wanted from it and it’s exactly what I got.

  • Seconding. Reading the other less-effusive comments has been interesting because I feel quite strongly about it. It was I think $600 when we got it and it was so difficult to stomach spending that kind of dough on a fucking litter box but now I’d drop it again in a heartbeat if anything ever happened to this one. That said, I also have three cats and now one of them has hyperthyroidism so we have to dump it every day and a half or so. It’s so often but I cannot imagine doing it with a regular litter box.
