I love tech, especially Open Source Tech

  • Such a great site and resource.

  • Parts of Bluesky are decentralizing. For example my account's PDS is not with Bluesky.

You are correct that Bluesky and Mastodon (et. al) don't really run on Web3 at all.

  • Wow not a good look.

  • Yep. Shameful!

  • Now it's not even social engineering with AI. It's just fucking asking for the credentials. Good fucking grief!

  • These were minor outages. Not excusing AI. Just saying

  • Man, good thing phones are really good and can be held onto for a while. Not getting all crappy after a year.

  • Doh!

  • I won't use regular Vanilla FF. I do like Zen tho!

  • Not true. You can follow Peertube from the other systems. You DO NOT need an account on each. Is it easier to use the platform natively? Yes. But you can follow threads on Lemmy from Mastodon and what not.

  • Yea I guess so. Man that must be difficult.

  • What pisses me off is that I can't have a family plaln associated with my main Google Workspace account. Because it's a Workspace account. So if I want to have a family plan for YouTube Music I need to have it associated with a gmail account not my workspace account. That's such bullshit, if you ask me!

  • Wow 34 Years of Dialup. Who still uses dial up? I guess that naive of me and is coming from a place of privelege.

    But still dial up??!

  • I feel seen!

  • Not too old. But this is like a BarCamp. The schedule isn't set until the day of. It's lots of fun!

  • I have my newsletter, MarketingJunto.com, on Ghost(Pro) and have been playing with the federated beta of this for a few months. It works great and helps with discoverability.

  • Yea, had to go to the laptop to do it. Phone wouldn't let me.

  • Write.as or Micro.blog or ?? for migration of public profile from big corporate social media

  • Ghost.org is working toward Federating. WordPress.org (self-hosted) using the ActivityPub plugin federates nicely.

But then you have to follow what Matt Mullenweg is up to!
