  • Same answer. You now have 2 devices, 2 batteries to charge, twice the volume in your pocket. iPod = Android + VLC. Nostalgia is stupid sometimes.

I compress everything from FLAC to Opus, and I have way more content than an iPod. Also the iPod cannot read the Opus format unless you're prepared to install an alternative OS.

  • I didn't like Requiem for a Dream. Pi was awesome though.

  • Rich people and tax evasion I guess. It feels equivalent to Luxembourg.

There is no tourism industry in Monaco though, everything is too expensive.

  • French of the 80s? I hated the haircut of "Capitaine Flam" ;)

  • My wife loves Maya, I tolerate that cartoon. But it was cute.

  • I loved Denver, but I remember that there was no plot in any episode. Bad guys were doing bad stuff I guess, then Denver and his friends won and celebrated somehow.

  • Both the Gummi Bears and MASK were famous in France for some reason. MASK was weird but fun, they also made a ton of money by selling toys.

  • The fun police is on its way to arrest that other guy.

  • The Muppet Babies were on French TV too. It was awesome.

  • PIP, personal improvement plan: you must be faster than the AI for one week. You fail, you're fired.

  • There is no such thing as non-active parents. My parents will always be my parents, even after their death. My parents are assholes, and do not live in the same country as I do, hence the phone call.

  • Qobuz still had a lot of music slop 2 months ago. They promised to clean that up but I'm not sure if they really did it.

  • Your JS overlay is annoying and stupid.

  • That's confusing. You're supposed to "celebrate" your own parents, aka a phone call or something. It doesn't change anything whether you're a parent or not.

Or was I trolled by a bot?

  • this fraud

  • TL;DR; 4 hours every day for 3 months.

Not the restroom but, a long time ago, a company tried to make me quit and fuck me in the ass in the process because of management issues to say the least. I was essential to the company and I knew it and they knew it, and they could not sue me because the boss was a famous bully in town (he still is).

I once told them I would quit, and during the mandatory "3 months notice" (in France, equivalent to your 2 weeks notice in the USA but legally mandatory), I was watching movies and playing games in my car during lunch from 11 AM to 3 PM. 4 hours of pure fun and entertainment every day, which was half depression, and half watching every TV show out there.

The software dev contract in France is usually "you have no specific hours, you don't clock in/out, you're free to organize your own time, but we don't pay you overtime." My boss told me that I was basically a slave because of that, and refused me some more work from home because he was petty. I took that as a hint that I could work whenever I wanted to. One lawyer friend of mine confirmed that it was legit as long as I quit. I did that as a small message to my bosses and middle managers, aka "fuck you and fuck you forever."

  • I like small conspiracies that have no explanation and are irrational. Here are a few that I've seen with a guy I know IRL:

The GDPR was meant to kill the internet. Or the European internet. I don't know how but this guy was very proactive and deleted his whole web site in retaliation. He had a web site to sell stuff, now he has no web site anymore. The fun stuff is that he was already GDPR compliant.

Vaccines against COVID were developed to kill old people. The proof I was given is "I have read on the internet that a 90 years old guy got a vaccine and he died!" Oh my god, that guy was 90 and he died? That's totally unexpected.

The hollow earth. It's a fun one since it exists since forever and got a revival thanks to the nazis. I can never understand why a rebellious "don't tread on me" idiot would blindly follow nazi theories.

Last but not least, Bluetooth is sending radiation to do "something," (don't know what) and is giving that guy bad headaches in the process. When he comes into our house, he's surrounded by Bluetooth but has no headaches, go figure.

  • I can confirm the price of new cars in France, it seems to be everywhere. Also, "thanks to" leasing, you would think most people can afford BMWs and brand new big cars at a very high price. It's really irresponsible when you know that they don't earn enough for those cars, and they will lose thousands of dollars in the process.

  • His last good movie was in 2000. You're right.
