I'm trying to selfhost some Lemmy communities just for fun :)

Buddhist, researcher, FOSS, Linux, selfhosting enthusiast, plantbased, anarchism and MLM interested.

Trying to be nice. I really dislike the Reddit style aggressive comments. If you are rude I will block and ban you.

  • Thanks! Like a painting

  • I can host it and have 100% what I consume and who I don’t interact with.

  • My snowball

  • oh no! she is so cute

  • per terabyte.

  • I would like to add anecdotally that all of my server drives are second hand and run very well. I’ve only ever had one issue in tens of drives. I think it’s worth it if you can get them for around 3-5$ PT. I have more than one server and everything is backed up.

If it’s much more I would just get them at the highly recommended serverpartsdeals (right?) site.

  • If you only use it for files, the only thing it's good for imho. it's awesome! :)

  • If your photos are externally linked I would just delete and rerun the dockers.

I just had a weird immich issue where all my photos disappeared. Deleting Redis solved it for me.

  • Thanks for sharing! I already add YouTube feeds

  • That sounds nice

  • oh that is a good write up! Do you have a blog?

  • tried it on my pc and no issue. must have been a phone ad block issue.

  • You made me want to read it but now I’m getting error 500. Is it still clickable for you?

  • It looks really good!

  • That’s a big difference

  • Trusting NYT about China is insane

  • firefly iii maybe

  • Advantage of a VPS over home server is uptime.

  • You can host it at home. Most IPs are not static but for some reason mine hasn’t changed in half a year. If it changes often you can use duckdns.
