I'm trying to selfhost some Lemmy communities just for fun :)

Buddhist, researcher, FOSS, Linux, selfhosting enthusiast, plantbased, anarchism and MLM interested.

Trying to be nice. I really dislike the Reddit style aggressive comments. If you are rude I will block and ban you.

  • Thanks! :) If I ever have a stressful paper my mother still helps me to this day and I think they go through that. So still inadvertently helping me lol

  • Telling people what you edited is nice though

  • Wait did you call me prettyyyy

  • I think I installed this but I will try it again, thanks for the recommendation!

Does it catch double spaces for you?

  • This is a great list.

  • I love the story of the father who raised his son on Klingon until it became too awkward for modern usage.

Thought that would be a fun experiment on my child. Don’t know much Klingon though.

  • Didnt someone get doom to run on living cells?

  • What I mean is since I got into selfhosting services via my servers I try to keep as much data as I can in my own home. I know Microsoft Office calls to home so I try to stick to FOSS which I can guarantee doesn't. I also don't know but I bet grammarly does call home a lot since they use AI as well now.

It's still a good recommendation, so thank you! I know it does help my family more than word typically, so it's a good product.

  • now this is cute

  • My family used that a lot but in trying to keep my research private I prefer to not use something proprietary. Which hurts me a little bit… :/

  • Btw most would rather read your own writing rather an ai. When my students edit with ai it’s typically pretty obvious and I think it wastes everyone’s time. Also, foreign students frequently write much better than the native English ones at my school, idk why. I bet your writing is better than you think :)

  • Super interesting

  • Sadly I’ve found nothing as good for spellcheck

  • I agree, it isn’t what I expected at all. I really like how they have a section telling you why they wrote the article. Check out their website. Wonder what it was like in the 80s?

  • I like Aljazera and Christian Science monitor (oddly unbiased and not Christian related)

  • Awesome!

  • How do you do that though?

  • what if you're just a trash can?
