  • Fair enough. That is a larger portion than I had realised. During the campaign I def thought that any Trump voter who wasn't a wealthy white male was voting against their interests.

  • Is this really a leopards at my face thing?

I'm aware that some Latinos voted for Trump, but surely that wasn't "most" of them.

  • I very much doubt that.

There's blood in the water. Trump would be pretty desperate for this to go his way.

  • Oh man.

What did this idiot give Bezos I wonder?

He's the worst negotiator in the history of US presidents.

  • My beautiful tariffs have worked and we've made deals with 376 countries that have made American dicks appear 74% bigger /s

  • That's a lot of jobs.

Sorry guys, the only way to pressure republicans to take action is a lot more of this.

    Good luck.

  • Comment of the year right here. Awesome. I like you.

  • You're looking at it the wrong way.

It doesn't matter who's on the right side of the law. They don't care if they lose this case.

They're trying to make ordinary citizens fearful of speaking up or calling them out. When they come to take your neighbors away they want you to look the other way because you don't want to get involved.

    Honestly, it's horrifying.

  • There's more at stake than stocks going up or down by a few percent.

People with large business empires don't want a catastrophic recession.

  • The cultists, yes... but they're not the ones keeping him on his throne. If enough rich people lose enough money he will be impeached.

  • IMO it's not really the MAGA idiots you need to worry about. It's the influential people in the republican party who are supporting Trump.

You're right that the stereotypical trump supporter can't be dissuaded by economic hardship.

However, the people that thought Trump was going to deliver them never before seen profits through de-regulation can very easily be dissuaded be economic hardship.

An economic hole is forming, and if it's deep enough and wide enough Trump will be unseated.

  • As someone who doesn't live in the US, I'm looking forward to watching this unfold.

It's going to hurt Trump. I'm sorry a lot of Dem voters will be collateral damage but honestly, an economic shit storm of biblical magnitude is pretty much the only thing that can save you IMO.

  • I don't have any credible feedback for you.

I dislike php. That's my feeling. The vibe.

When I'm browsing self hostable things I avoid php unless it's really the only option.

My completely unsupported "feeling" is that apps written in php are awkward and clunky and just less pleasant to host.

I'm sorry if that offends you, and I don't care at all what you think of my opinion.

I only mentioned "php apps feel old" because I could see you were some kind of php devotee and that it would trigger you. Maybe look into that.

  • This.

He might discontinue his role formally but will still be involved.

  • That's nuts.

The mice here are very small and very fast. There's just no way I could get one with a knife and I'm pretty spry.

I've learned a few things about dealing with mice in my time...

If you've seen one you probably have dozens.

If they die in a wall cavity there's nothing you can do. They will stink, you've just got to wait it out. Used ground coffee in a dish or whatever tends to absorb the smell.

There's lots of different types of traps. You probably need to experiment with different types. For example the spring loaded ones don't work for very small mice. Also I dislike the no-kill ones because then you have to deal with a live mouse. One of the most impressive I've seen is like a lid on a bucket with a trapdoor - it's what farmers use in a plague.

Poison is another good option but be aware it usually has an attractant. If you can hear mice in your ceiling you don't want to put the poison in your ceiling because you'll get more mice in your ceiling. Put the poison outside to draw the mice out.

  • Generally insurance won't cover something like that.

  • I think an all out strike as in, not paying rent, is a very serious and aggressive option that you'd only exercise in extreme circumstances.

Unionising provides a lot of power to tenants long before going that far.

For example, as a group you can afford legal representation.

  • We don't have a TV but my partner and I watch TV or movies on our phones or laptops.

I derive immense enjoyment from knowing that the day is done. Like there's nothing else I need to do but put my phone down and then go to sleep.

  • Yeah it is very useful, just be aware that it's not an exhaustive list and not necessarily the most awesome.

It's a good starting point but it's always a good idea to check alternativeto.net

Another good resource is linuxserver.io they provide docker containers but rather than just having everything they tend to only have the best of whatever thing.
