  • Yeah. There's a correlation vs causation problem here that I don't really have the answers to.

    In other words I think that's reductive.

    Hillary was Hillary and didn't take Trump seriously.

    Kamala was run without much planning and forethought.

    AOC might be a woman, and I take your point that may not be in her favor, but she has many virtues that may outweigh that disadvantage.

    Trump "completely loses it" all the time because he seems to have complete undying loyalty from everyone around him. There are no negative consequences for these outbursts.

    My comment was intended to imply that the term "hacking" defies definition because it has been grossly overused and misconstrued over many decades.

    Sure you might be able to convey what it means to you but of course it means different things to everyone else, with each definition being equally appropriate.

    Er go, any discussion is one of semantics.

  • Not really. Nextcloud does this. They call it a "file drop".

    Like you create a share link for a folder, and then specify that users of that link can't see any files, only upload.

  • I was more or less exclusively lemmy for a good year or so, up until several months ago.

    I would've logged into reddit maybe 3 or 4 times in the last year.

    Sadly, I have to admit that browsing reddit with redlib or something is better than lemmy.

    Lemmys main virtue is that its not reddit.

    There's less content here, and it really is an echo chamber.

    I will add though, the main reason to use a drill press is precision, and it's hard to imagine a 3D printed structure wouldn't flex and warp during use.

    Shopping is not a pleasant experience for us. The millions of products trying to attract my attention, the people I don't want to talk to. It's a hostile environment.

    I always managed it by zooming through getting everything on my list in the right route.

    My partner just doesn't work that way. Hither and thither and lots of "just browsing" in between.

    CSAM distribution is possible on pretty much any platform.

    As long as the platform isn't obfuscating a user's IP address then I don't see how it's any worse than any other platform.

    A few weeks ago everyone in this community was fawning over some dev's new anonymous zero-knowledge file sharing platform and no one seemed to care that it would be overrun with CSAM.

  • Coffee seems to be one of those things supermarkets regularly price cycle.

    If i buy 4x 1kg bags when it's 30% off, i rarely have to buy any at full price.

    This doesn't work for artisan's coffee you buy direct from the roaster obviously.
