    If I were in America I wouldn't be taking up arms.

    I think i would be joining protests at work opportunity, to the point where it would have an impact on my employment and home life.

    I acknowledge that loads of you are already doing that. Commenters like yourself probably are, but the vast majority of Americans are not.

    Regardless, I sometimes make comments similar to the one you're replying to. I think some of it comes from decades of being told that America somehow has the best kind of freedom and personal liberty. Again, I acknowledge its the right usually making those claims.

  • I'm honestly not sure what "files" people expect to exist and what they might contain.

    Genuinely asking: was he a blackmailer? Did he keep evidence on all of his clients?

    More cynically: do we really expect that law enforcement has that evidence and that the trump administration might release it?

    There's just no chance in hell anything actionable will be released by the Trump administration.

    Honestly, they could release a list, handwritten in sharpie, of Democrats and call that the epstein files and that would be that.

    One brand Lezyne had several versions. There was an "AI Alert" one. I looked it up and it just has a sensor to detect when you brake and it changes to a different flashing mode at that time.

    Thats barely even "smart" let alone "AI".

    The stupid thing is, because of this dumb claim they needed to confirm that it doesn't collect and transmit any data about your riding habits. Its a light with no connectivity other than a charging port.

    The dumbfuckery is astonishing.

  • It's not as simple as just deciding to hire people at lower rates of pay.

    Cost cutting is a tricky game. When an organisation is not on a positive trajectory, cost cutting has a very high risk of re-enforcing the underlying problems.

    That's not to say cost cutting isn't a worthy objective, but it needs to be carefully considered.

    If you want a CEO with the right skills and connections you need to pay.

    Obviously it would be negotiated, with a panel overseeing the procurement and hiring process.

    That panel has no interest in overpaying executives. Obviously they would pay just enough to secure someone with the right network and skills. Just because they earn more than you does not mean they're overpaid.
