These are the moments I would like to be able to give awards on lemmy. Not necessarily for money (although it might help support the fediverse), just nice little appreciation icons to glorify.

You mean because of Freedom of Speech? I think it’s not that hard; your freedom ends where someone else’s freedom begins. Propaganda and advertising for example are designed to force you into believing something / thinking in ways that you wouldn’t, so you are effectively cut off from thinking and believing like you would have been doing without that pressure.
Well, Nixon also did a few good things, among them the EPA and Clean Air Act (actually very interesting list of good and terrible things on his Wikipedia). Literally no one, and I really do mean no one, will go as deep down as Diaper Donnie, Third Reich (hopefully) excluded.
