  • I got off CloudFlare by using Pangolin. Ideal for my use-case, I didn't use any of CF's advanced features, so Pangolin is the ideal replacement for me.

Publicly serves everything from static sites to forgejo (+the ssh endpoint for git pushes).

  • I'd love to have been at Alpine Valley on Aug 26, 1990, Stevie Ray Vaughan's last gig. His version of Voodoo Child there is supposed to have been legendary.

And of course Woodstock, Newport Folk Fest (not sure which year it was when Bob Dylan brought an electric guitar and caused an uproar). And that's just the festivals, so many band of years past that I'd follow around as if they were the Grateful Dead.

  • indeed enjoying it muchly! Coming from (paid) symfonium, but not missing anything as Tempus is nearly as beautiful. Can't say it's lacking any features that I need, so yea, very happy with it.

Only downside, if any, is since its foss, it'll end up costing me more through donations than the one-time Symfonium payment 🤣

  • audiobookshelf for audiobooks specifically, with Lissen as the android client.

For music, Navidrome with Tempus as android client and Feishin as desktop client, all scrobbling to ListenBrainz.

  • You are not alone! 😀

Biggest Belgian community is Belgium@lemmy.world, you should find plenty of Belgian people and topics there.

  • Socrates knew that he knew nothing. That's the gist of the method, to be curious. And if an argument is invalid, that will eventually become apparent

  • wow rekordbox looks nice! I've used Mixxx up til now.

One killer feature might make me switch: I see rekordbox allows mixing of spotify or apple music songs: do they also support navidrome? That would blow me away!

about the topic: what about home assistant? That should prove an adequate rabbit hole for you :)

  • wake me up when German cars are on the list. Until then I'll regard this as purely performative and will be overturned in some months.

Also: making repairable the very cell phones on which they require constant monitoring of private communications reeks of hypocrisy.

Yes I'm skeptical about all this.

  • Hah, don't know that one but it sounds like the perfect one to read next! :D

  • I offer suggestions sparingly. I don't speak up unless asked for my opinion. The time I tried convincing colleagues/bosses is over, I'm not getting paid enough to argue with people set in their ways.

  • Ryan North - How to Invent Everything: A Survival Guide for the Stranded Time Traveler

More interesting and funny than I had expected, not too heavy, ideal for now.

  • You can always build a front-end and add that community to the ignore list /s

  • wow didn't know dockge could do that!

  • I can recommend Arcane as a front end. I switched over all my services this last week from multiple dockges to a single arcane (+agents). It's looking pretty sweet now. Cleans up a lot of bookmarks too 😆

  • Sure, I'm assuming the project has a stable version and a warning or archived banner clearly advertised 😉

  • oh absolutely. I only meant in case it's physically too much for the repo owner.

There's no need to feel obligated to carry on to one's own detriment. The community knows how to move on with it, e.g. ownership transfer or a fork.

  • Any JellyGlance users here? Is it worth it? This seems like it should be a jellyfin add-on, not a separate service. Still trying to see the real upside, so feel free to enlighten me.
