Fully staffed organizations of skilled and experienced people don't just HAPPEN. The people who made NPR and PBS what it was? A huge number of them have now moved on and are not coming back. This isn't "evil has been defeated", this is "the slow process of rebuilding can start with underpaid employees sitting under the sword of Damacles."
It's not "back to what it was last year". It's "maybe in 10 years we MIGHT get back a functioning organization like we had a year ago."
I figure with Booking.com I'm going to end up with a windowless, roach infested hotel room anyway, so I look for properties with reviews like "No windows. Lots of roaches. But a lovely breakfast."
It goes beyond "charitable interpretation" and into magical thinking to argue that it has somehow stabilized.
A paramilitary death squad is "helping out" with security checks for travel, we're marching right along the path to the end of any premise of privacy or anonymity on the internet, and the Pentagon just threw the press out of the building. And that's just YESTERDAY.
If AI is so good at what it does, then it shouldn't matter if you fall behind in adopting it... it should be able to pick up from where you need it. And if it's not mature, there's an equally valid argument to be made for not even STARTING adoption until it IS - early adopters always pay the most.
There's practically no situation where rushing now makes sense, even if the tech eventually DOES deliver on the promise.
Luckily all the members are still available and willing to come back to a hostile environment where they are likely to be railroaded or fired again for nonsense reasons, for what is likely lower pay than they've found in the interim. All fixed!
The same is true of 90% of the crappy, bloated frameworks people make a career out of wiring together. This is just the latest chapter of the tale of the last decade.
