  • Why are people so max about this?

  • I do know now. And that's cool as shit

  • Till u need to move ur data and u get got by their data lockin fees

  • Yeah its their cash engine they use for funding everything else so they can monopolise everything else by undercutting everyone

  • English language superiority and global domination gang fuck yeah

  • Depends how it decays would it be spitting out protons thus disappearing or spitting out neutrons and be fine?

  • I don't get how people can only be paid minimum wage. Ivan have zero skills and get paid a fat wage as long as ur happy to call about 6000 companies who do real world actually hard work and ask em for a job. Find some family owned machine shop or tradie company or something similar then work ur ass off and u get to learn all sorts of things and get paid well for it. I was 17 during a school holiday and was getting paid 30$/hour its not that shed to get paid a decent wage.

  • So did has different providers so atproto uses did:plc and did:web but their are many different options and its a standard so u can get comparability with so many things ie did:pgp, did:eth, and like a million other options

  • I disagree. AI is causing huge increases in the demand for energy in general. Renewables are the most economic energy source and pretty much all new generation will be renewable since its cheaper. AI is just accelerating the transition process.

  • If Activpub does portable actors (a user is just an actor) communities are just actors so therefore portable users means u get portable communities for free

  • Unified identity really needs a modification at the core of activpub. The issue at the moment is that a user is just an actor and an actor is just a url. What it needs to be is something like a did(distributed identity) which is what atproto (bluesky uses) does. And the did points to a list of actors that can be across multiple servers. The did has a private, public key pair and signs all activities by per server actors as ur user. What this means is u don't need to trust any server with login details or anything and u can do activities acting as any instance you want.

  • Different calculators will disagree when u type the question in BTW. Its a typography problem created by lazy mathematicians and algebra

  • This is one of those things that is the fault of mathematicians being lazy. Its the implied multiplication between the factor and the term in the bracket. Technically 16 is the correct answer according to offical mathematical rules. However everyone just assumes the multiplication between 2 and (2+2) as it makes writing mathematics easyer. Anyone used to algebra will assume the implied multiplication. Even a lot of calculators especially the higher end more scientific ones will say its 1 as well

  • What about Brenda Ann Spencer, Sylvia Seegrist, Jennifer San Marco, and Amy Bishop Anderson and don't forget Robin Westman, and Alec McKinney to be inclusive of mtf the trans.

  • Does it have vector embeddings of all the songs if they did it would be great for building a foss recommendation algorithm

  • The companies selling have decided that that is a risk they are willing to accept. And if they can't pay then all those chips get reallocated back to the consumer market and supply meets demand thus our prices drop

  • Its more profitable because the demand is higher and the supply us limited. If the demand from consumers was higher they would drop the ai companies. Also openai made a deal with 2 of the 3 majour suppliers without telling each other in what is theorised to be a move simply to prevent competition from acquiring the hardware. It is just supply demand just at the level of entire sectors of the market instead of as a per unit thing.

  • Thats just more economic pressure for a new competitor to step in and pick up the slack

  • Their is no GPU demand from miners anymore as asics are vastly more efficient. Their was a pretty significant drop in prices for second hand GPUs on the open market just before the ai bubble started to pickup significantly.
