I've been on Manjaro for years, but have been considering switching to Endeavour or CachyOS (or maybe vanilla Arch, but I'm lazy). Looks like it may be time to ditch Manjaro.
I prefer metric, it just makes more sense.
Also having to add fractions in order to measure something is maddening.
10 1/4" + 4 17/32" vs. 260mm + 115mm
I first encountered kidz bop about 2010ish when my wife's sister was playing it for her kids at a family gathering. I'm still scarred from the experience. That day I vowed if I ever had kids that travesty would never be allowed in my house. Since having a daughter I've endured Frozen, Taylor Swift, and Kpop demon hunters. But the evil that is Kidz Bop has never graced a speaker in our house!
Thanks for the recc. I've used syncthing for syncing my phone with my PC and it works great. Though sync is not quite what I want since any file deletions on the PC get propagated to the folder on the server. Though maybe there is a way to change this behavior in syncthing?
"Maybe we should describe bacteria by their individual features and give that group a name"
We already do that. The function and genes of bacteria are what defines a bacterial species (or genus, family, or order).
I do agree that the Wikipedia definition of "species" doesn't strictly apply to bacteria due to asexual reproduction and HGT. But it is still a useful tool for classifying bacteria.
Giving it a name makes talking about the organism easier.
If I know that a person is infected with Staphylococcus aureus I know that the characteristics and treatment are going to be very different than if they were infected with Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
Giving it a species name is a lot easier than saying they are infected with a coagulase positive, gram positive coccus.
My girlfriend and I followed the stinkymeat and stinkyfeet projects eagerly anticipating each update. The feet one was especially horrifying. I'm surprised he didn't end up in the hospital.
