  • I would complete ignore whatever politics of Lemmy or PieFed people try and sway you with. Way too many people on here trying to start drama.

In my experience, Lemmy moves slow but things are very stable. PieFed moves fast adding lots of features that Lemmy is missing, but tends to break things a little more. Both are very useable platforms.

I’ve personally had great interactions with the Lemmy and PieFed devs, and I know they collaborate with each other behind the scenes.

And if you’re unsure, I would just make a PieFed and lemmy account and try both. But the specific PieFed or Lemmy instance you choose might matter just as much as which software you choose.

  • I think it's kinda unrealistic to put this burden on the user. If big images are an issue, then Lemmy/PieFed should compress images, either on the client side or at the API level.

  • All social media content was actually created in 2015. No new content was created since then. Most people don’t know this, but 100% of TikToks are just reposts from Vine.

  • Blorp dev here. Thanks for the support! Not only is the app actively maintained, but I do my best to lurk in the comments and help people with any issues.

  • Maybe memo just to be safe, but LGTM!

  • He’s lived in a lot of houses over the years including a college house. So we invited all his friends from college for his 18th birthday. He always seemed oddly comfortable being surrounded by lots of people and a little chaos. So I think he appreciated getting to see a big group of his friends after having graduated college.

As for camping, we booked a little cabin in the woods. The cabin had electricity and an ac, but no running water, if that gives you an idea. So it was a camping, but comfortable enough for him to like it, aka glamping. Initially he seemed confused being in a new place, but after a couple hours, he was very excited by all the nature around him. In his old age, his top speed was very slow, so we could let him explore a little without him running off.

  • Awwww she must have been a great cat and friend. Queen of that log!

  • I’m sorry for your loss. I would love to see a picture of your cat that passed, if you’re comfortable sharing

  • I'm actually just the adopted father of 4 years, but I'm very grateful for those 4 years. My partner has had him for all 18 years.

  • Oooo can you post a link?

  • Just treat her with respect and be a good listener. Maybe my perception is skewed but it seems like most men can’t do that these days. For context, I’m also a man.

Edit: also want to add, find someone that makes you feel secure. Being in a secure relationship may take time if you’re anxious or avoidant, but it’s worth it. Don’t waste time on people that play games. Even if it’s fun, there is no substitute for a secure relationship

  • Me and my partner met on a dating app and we’ve been together for years. Idk I hate dating apps, but there’s no rules. You can meet someone anywhere. I’m kinda shy, so dating app worked for me

  • Idk, marijuana looks pretty good
