There are so many people here that hate cloud based services. And the same people also hate JavaScript. Like you realize if your app was just static JavaScript files, you could literally just download the entire site to your computer and run it? Why is JavaScript the enemy?

I’m working on a Lemmy client and I occasionally browse main stream social media to check the robustness of my app vs theirs. But I find myself enjoying mainstream less and less as I settle more into Lemmy.
…shortly after, the internet broke people’s brains though addictive feed algorithms and everyone lost their minds. But then Lemmy was born to restore the internet to an early more fun time. Lemmy just hopes that one day it will have its own dress moment.
Reminder if you want this platform to continue to exist, you should donate to Lemmy. Devs, your instance, your favorite app, etc. If you can’t afford to donate, try and recruit a few of your friends to Lemmy.
For me this 4th thing is “tub”. It’s when my cat asks me to fill the bathtub with a small puddle of water so he can stand on the dry side and drink from the puddle. He’s 18 years old but he can still climb in and out of the tub and I think that’s pretty cool.
Idk how one gets content on Nebula, but I wish more creators would join. Ik nebula isn’t Fediverse like PeerTube, but I still really like it and think it’s worth the $30/year to not get ads.
They don’t need cameras. Your phone is constantly connecting to cell towers and broadcasting its unique identifier. Those towers keep a record of who has connected. So long as your in range of 3 or more towers they can triangulate your location.
I don’t daily drive Linux (though I use Tmux and Vim 8 hours a day if that counts for anything) so take this with a grain of salt. Would those companies jumping to Linux really be a problem? Steam is embracing Linux and it seems like it’s legitimized Linux gaming in a way that people never thought was possible. I hate Adobe, but how would Photoshop Linux edition prevent you from using open source alternatives?
