  • Tone is very hard to convey through text. I think rules like these can be helpful to get more information across without having to type more words.

  • Secretly?

  • By repeating those words, they're trying to dilute the meaning of them so that previois (and probably future) accusations against them lose some of their weight and importance. If everything is sedition and treason, then nothing is.

  • I dunno, I can go to the pharmacy right now and get naloxone for free if I wanted. They give that shit away here.

  • Snoring attentively

  • That was always allowed, even for the non-autopen ones. In fact, I think lots of people are surprised it hasn't happened sooner.

The whole point of an EO is that it's supposed to be just a policy, not a law. The next government coming in can just cancel all these policies and institute new ones.

  • I've been with Fizz for a few years, and both my phone and home internet plans have both dropped in price over the years, plus they give you "perks" like more data or a small discount that you can apply to your plans. I'm at $7 off my monthly payment at this point.

In the end, we're still dealing with the big guys, but at least for now, these subsidiaries are acting much nicer than their parent companies.

  • One used 'skewered' a few days ago, and no, the subject of the article didn't die.

  • I lived across the street from a power distribution station. One night while I was outside, there was a lightning strike there, and it lit up the sky like daylight for 2-3 full seconds, and the power for the whole town went out.

  • If you had not dipped these in … food coloring, for some reason…?

You rub the end on the red packaging to make the tip red. At least that's how we did it when I was a kid, long after they stopped calling them candy cigarettes, but we knew what they were.

  • The red comes from rubbing one end on the red packaging.

  • I don't think the article is calling people dumb. It only states objective facts, and I think it was pretty good at NOT suggesting people are dumb. Ignorant perhaps, but it does stick to the facts (and some fluff to pad the page.)

  • They use Eastern Arabic numerals, while most of the world uses Western Arabic numerals.

  • 3, maybe 4.

  • You had me at hello.
