  • my aunt has a long neck, 3 vertebras more.

Apparently it's really rare for mammals to evolve that without getting somthing else that's really nasty like cancer. There was a recent video about it on SciShow or HanksChannel

  • I grew up in and currently live in rural Midwest. People here don't need a reason to set off fireworks randomly. But they'll definitely capitalize when yoh do give them a reason.

It's mostly teenage boys and their 40+ yo washed up beer-gut dads

  • Uh... The US government is one of the longest continually running ones. Most other countries were either formed later or had some major revolution.

The only 2 older governments I can think of are the UK and Japan

  • Septic tank discharge fields are great places for flower gardens. No veggies.

And only salt-tolerant flowers at that. Septic field tend to build up in salinity over time due to our diets

  • True, but fungi aren't that distantly related from animals

  • but too much can burn your soil. same thing for industrial fertilizers.

My dad likes to say this about gardening, and instead of applying a weekly does of fertilizer in one go each week (as recommended), distributes it throughout the week when he waters the garden. Literally microdosing, so you get 1/7 of the weekly dose each day

  • Tbh, that doesn't sound different from any other antivirus software

  • Don't insult autists like that

  • The story is a complete mess that hinges on every scientist involved being extremely incompetent

  • No, it's really not.

Christopher Nolan's screenplays tend to be hit or miss, and Interstellar is deep in the "miss" category

  • I think a lot of it stems from the fact that we really didn't know how bad concussions were until about 40-50 years ago

    1. a lot of people haven’t actually experienced real pain to understand how bad real pain is you don’t get shot and just suck air through your teeth tie a piece of fabric around it tightly then act totally normal

Tbh, it depends on the person. I've broken a finger before, and while it hurt like hell I didn't scream in pain. I was silent while thinking oh fuck oh fuck oh fuck in my head while trying to get to safety.

That being said, once the adrenaline wore off I had signs of shock. I couldn't stand for long before getting tunnel vision

  • I doubt it.

I remember when the study first came out. He bought a license for CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) software for a different project and had an extra 2-3 weeks left over when he was done with it. So he decided to use the remaining time he paid for modelling giant anime tiddies

  • A fellow SCAdian?

  • The whole r/egg community and its offshoots are just gross.

In the immortal words of Marge Simpson: "don't you push them; that's something they have to decide for themselves"

  • Way to ignore half of my comment

I'm not calling you an apologist, just..think about how your brain did that.

Go fuck yourself. The fact you're willing to type that proves you're an asshole, and I'm not even surprised you turned out to be like that

  • At no point in your previous comment did you say the word "team".

You really put your foot in your mouth with that one.

  • Ever hit them so hard with something that the item in question broke?

Tbf, that bit is somewhat dependent on context. I agree, >90% of parents that do that are just shit. My personal experience was different - my dad though ahead and had a specific setup for paddling. Multiple warnings ahead of time, and used narrow-handled wooden spoons, so they'd break so he couldn't put too much force into it
