  • Growing up in a white, blue collar (mostly Democrat) family, I'm ashamed to say that I've seen this bullshit first hand. Sometimes overtly. Even after marrying in to an upper middle class white collar (mostly Democrat) family, I'm ashamed to say that I've continued to see this bullshit first hand. It's just more subtle now.

I can't change people's minds, but at least I won't raise my kids this way. Absolutely not.

  • Gross.

  • Devils advocate here. Any human can also hallucinate. Some of them even do it as a recreational activity

  • I was in the top 1% for Beatles listeners a few years back. That was shocking, but it was a deep-dive I did over like 6 months, so I guess it makes sense. Still, given their popularity it really surprised me an made me question Spotify's metrics

  • This is the first thing I've seen here that feels like it meets the OP's ask. What a cool hobby!

  • He's basically the real life equivalent of an internet troll. Just ignore him

  • I like to think that Dave Brockie is laughing his ass off in hell over this while sharing a needle with Satan

  • Why do you think this?

  • It wouldn't do any good. None of that equipment has worked for a long time

  • I'm struggling hard to understand. It seems like the comic is trying to make a point, but it's so unclear it's hard to tell what it is.

  • Dude, you need a better writer

  • Ha! As a sidenote, I'm a regular public speaker in front of 100+ people (occasionally more, maybe capping out at 500). I've heard this suggestion time and again. I'm not sure where it originated from, but I can tell you, it's absolute bullshit advice.

When you're in front of an audience, the last thing you need is to pile on more mental load which requires you to imagine anything. it's actually terrible advice.

  • Brain worms

  • I'm a huge fan of the Gran Turismo (others as well, including rally) series. I'm pretty good too. I have my own wheel/pedal setup and take beating my PB's on tracks pretty seriously. The handful of times I've played drunk have been insanely great fun. It also reinforced how important it is to NEVER drive drunk

  • Alright, I'll be the pedantic dick commenter and say: if Superman had toenail clippers capable of cutting through his nails, they wouldn't shoot off at insane speeds. Either the material of the clippers would just be crushed in his grasp, or they're made of some fantastical material that can withstand the forces needed and can cut them. There's no scenario where the trimmings shoot off like this

  • I completely relate. I think that's just part of maturing in general. I'd modify that a bit though. "Fuck everyone else" is too dismissive. You've got to take others into account. If you don't, you are absolutely part of the problem

  • I'd like to hear an explanation for why you think this.
