⚠️ I sometimes post NSFW stuff.

I’m a 37m British writer, designer, gaymer, lefty snowflake, and AuDHDer. I never shut up about Ace Attorney, and I collect Tamagotchis. Trying to learn Japanese, currently N4-ish.

  • If you give it back with scratches on it, will you be into negative equity? 😬 I assume it'll come with all the bad parts of car leasing, too...

  • For instance, Toad is referred to as Kinopio (I assume the wordplay is "Pinokio" – Pinocchio – with the syllables rearranged to be a play on "kinoko" which means mushroom?) while Bowser is literally called Kuppa ("Koopa") (basically the same shit with Pokemon, since Satoshi is renamed as Ash Ketchum in the American version, like why?

...like they just say "Zelda" by name when in JP they refer to her as Hime-sama ("Princess", but super respectful, kinda has "Your Highness" vibes I guess) from dialog.

  • You don't see rofl nearly enough nowadays

  • Salma Hayek

  • BIG BROTHER IS WATCHING YOUHELPING YOU REMEMBER YOUR IMPORTANT CONVERSATIONS

  • I always wonder whether we're getting it backwards.

Like, did you see ads for kayaks because you had that conversation about kayaking, or did you have the conversation because an ad company/social network decided it was time for you to get into kayaking?

  • Or it accidentally got the wording wrong, oops

  • Technology @lemmy.world

Google preps Pixel ‘Audio Memory’ that ambiently tracks your ‘important conversations,’ like AI notetaker pins

  • FWIW, it's a myth that sugar causes hyperactivity. But it's been shown in studies that parents who believe the myth are more likely to perceive their children's behaviour as hyperactive when they've had sugar.

I think there is evidence that some artificial food additives can have that effect in some people, though.

  • Ate loads of shit for years as soon as I left home, now type-2 diabetic. 😬

  • Did you somehow post this from a typewriter

  • They're 100% going to come for VPNs as well.

  • I once explosively vomited in an Outback Steakhouse on my 21st birthday. Like, a narrow, winding trail of sick leading to the toilets, sick all over the toilet bowl, sick on the ceiling, sick all up the walls, sick on the floor. It was horrendous.

I hadn't even been drinking, I felt rough all day so all I ended up having was a Pepsi. 😬

Anyway, I came out looking really sheepish and told my flatmates we needed to leave. One of them went to tell a member of staff, who stared at her for a few seconds, then pointed at another guy and said, "Can you go and tell that to my manager, and not tell him you told me? Because I really don't want to deal with that." 😅

  • It makes you believe that it did the work, but also makes you feel like it's your fault if it doesn't do the work 😬

  • Researchers historically tended to assume birds either did not masturbate or did so only under the stress of captivity ... Accounts from hobbyists revealed that some owners had sought veterinary help when they caught their birds masturbating, fearing the animals might hurt themselves.

  • Probably still the longest thing they've ever read

  • Yeah, every customer service worker has met loads. 😬

  • I've tried switching before, but always found I ultimately preferred Google's search results.

But if Google's going to stop showing me search results… that makes things easier. 😬

  • And is this "Obama" in the room with us right now?
