  • Same thing applies. The AUR doesn't get security updates from Arch,RPM Fusion doesn't get security updates from Fedora,Packman doesn't get security updates from OpenSUSE,and Slackbuilds/Alienbob don't get security updates from Slackware.

  • No, it's the same with every distro.Distro maintainers CAN'T support repos containing non-free packages with security fixes.Because they can't fix security issues in the code.Because the code is not free for them to edit.

This entire criticism just shows a lack of understanding of how distros work, and what security updates are.

  • Debian also doesn't offer security upgrades for contrib and non-free.Only main is officially supported.

Same as Ubuntu, security upgrades for additional repos are handled by the community, not the distro maintainers themselves.

  • My cat: "It's free real estate!"

  • Someone should ask those right-wing men when was the last time they donated to an open source project.

  • You're comparing the top 0.001% of OF models with "a lot of opensource developers". Get your categories straight. And the question gives off weird vibes, like "how come hard-working (male) devs make less than women just showing their tits?"

  • Because the developers aren't equivalent to OnlyFans models.OnlyFans models are for-profit business owners using OnlyFans as infrastructure, not employees or volunteers.

So you'd have to compare their profits with for-profit business owners using opensource software as infrastructure.Examples of those are Red Hat, Canonical, Broadcom, Microsoft, Apple, etc.

  • I know, right?

  • In 20 years I never had a system-breaking (or really even any noticeable) bug from an update.

  • You completely, utterly misunderstood my comment. What do you propose? Put the AI on trial for false imprisonment?

  • I bought the exact model of bicycle on which Peter Winnen from the Netherlands won Alpe d'Huez, the hardest mountain stage of the 1981 Tour de France.Used it to commute to work, go on bike tours and bomb down fire roads for 5 years, then sold it for twice what I paid.

  • Yes, the vendors share part of the blame. The AI doesn't.

Edit for clarification: AI can't share any blame. It's a computer program. The company that makes it is fully responsible for what it does, and the cops are responsible for believing its output over actual proof.

  • One only tells the truth, the other only tells lies.

"If I asked the other cat Which one is the stairway to heaven, what would it say?"

    meow

  • Their names are Trip and Trap.

  • No, cops jailed her!AI can't put handcuffs on a person.It can't even make a decision.Stop deflecting the blame.

  • Time to distro-hop!
