  • that awkward moment when a person you know (not friend otherwise i'd hold or gtfo to next floor) and you walk in and you both need to poop. .The restroom only has 2 toilet stalls side by side..

    So what you do? If its a crowded place where many people come in and use the restroom then youre ok: you hope for the sound of people talking + water faucet sound to "suppress" your fart sound. .

    What if it is not crowded? Well shit, then we are in a tugg of war. I just hope the initial noise is not loud.

  • i use a yubikey and still have the ability to type my LUKs password in. Yubikey is just more convenience: plug in and it auto type the password field. On Fedora this means it populates the field with asterisks. Still, i think using password is the best method.

    With that said, i believe a much better secure layer is something similar to what Novacustoms, Purism attempt to do: verify if somebody else not you try to access the laptop. So far i know of only Dasharo boot and the stuff from Purism that can do these...

    So the layout is: Boot verification -> LUKs-> your data

    Or if you have the juices and powers: Boot verification -> LUKS -> QuebeOS dom0 -> choose your Quebess.

    my memories of the covid years are hazy. Yeh we were stuck in doors and so months and days seemed squashed together.

    But i still remember some details:

    • when covid broke out early 2020 after that fire in Australia, Dr Fauci and the covid taskforce recommended to wash hands and mask up.

    => fox and the republicunts immediately flood the news with stuff like guys wearing mask die because they csnt breath, or their typical narrative "what covid its just a flu"

    • when things got pretty serious in US, i remember around May 2020. Remember that cruise ship and people were guarantined? Yeh we were recommended to stay home and avoid public places

    ==> holy shit, i remember very large crowds in LA carrying maga signs saying shit like "covid from china not us, we from us so we safe"...The fox news cunts were pushing stuff like "dont stay home cuz unconstitutional lol, this is US not china communist lol"

    ==> later in the years we had very large spikes, what did these maga pussies do? They flooded the streets of michigan, demanding to hang the gov Gretchen Whitmer.

  • yes you can. On Graphene you can set the main profile as just there with nothing except to control wifi/add esim/etc. Then you can create many profiles with their own passwords. You can store your work stuff in 1 profile, private stuff in another. You can even create a dummy profile with fake Google. .

    The downside currently is that the OS autoboot to main profile. Then you switch to your other profiles.

  • GrapheneOS - the only OS that i just installed and forget about it. Sure i spend time to tweak things like profiles but thats it.

    And I am a distro and rom hopper.

    The security model is that good: duress pin, scrambled pin, separate profiles with their own passwords, usb c restriction (you can set it charge only, charge while phone is off (most secure state).

  • i can still literally smell and remember the atmosphere in those IT classes:

    • PCs takes 10 mins to boot sometimes 30 mins. By the time it boots, we are out of time and cant play any games. Yes we are allowed the last 10 mins of class to play games.
    • Remember DAVE the game?
    • Keyboards are very satisfying to type on. Mouse is a hit n miss because they have those ball thing to control the direction. I.e. sometimes the ball gets stuck and you cannot click or scroll.
    • A bunch of geeks try to send message using net send command. We thought we are the gangsters.
    • Nothing worse than having an IT class after lunch, you have like 50 kids and 25 pcs and there are NO A.C. The only thing you have is the ceiling fan.

  • np, and also not sure if you have to use bank apps to do transfer everyday but you can try to use 2 phones. Thats what i did until i make sure the bank apps work well.

    Also look up profiles in GrapheneOS too. I have a dedicates profile for Banks apps only with different password and fingerprints.
