  • We always get reminded why monopolies are bad. Enjoy it while they are good, that never lasts.

    That said, the only monopoly abuse thing I know of is they disallowing lower prices elsewhere. That should be stopped, but it's pretty mild nowadays.

  • There's a good reason sysv isn't on the meme.

    If you think it never broke, that's because you weren't doing anything different or creating anything that required it.

    That said, systemd had a tendency to break even if you didn't either. But nowadays the bugs are mostly fixed, and the stupidity is contained on parts people mostly don't adopt.

  • Running the code again is fast and requires no thinking. Finding the problem is slow and requires a lot of thinking.

    I mean motivation for why somebody cares about the idea at all, but I think that is less strict so yes. A hole in theory or something emerging from an activity are perfectly fine. But there has to be something there.
