  • I wonder if these repair companies that Samsung outsources to have internal metrics to keep payouts or replacements as low as possible.

Gaslight the customer into returning and agreeing to a "refund at original cost". Do this X number of times for contract bonuses or something.

  • I highly doubt there will be lawyers involved on the plaintiff side. This is definitely going to a local small claims court.

If Samsung or this "Total Tech Solutions" company does send a lawyer (very rare), he will get the desired outcome. Probably check for the cost of new SSD + court fees.

  • I wouldn’t say it’s a "financial hit". He has specifically worded his YT video to make it seem as if he will hire a lawyer and take Samsung et al to court. But in reality he is definitely planning on filing this in a local small claims court.

Still want to see him win because honestly he deserves it and fuck Samsung. But he does tend to be a bit over dramatic in his videos for the clicks/viewership 😂

  • Small claims court is likely where this is filed. So, it’s very likely he will get the desired outcome.

edit: ended up watching video on yt at 2X. It is indeed his plan to file suit in small claims court, or as he puts it in his email, "Justice Court of Travis county, Texas" if his demands to replace at current market value or provide replacement are not met.

The video implies he is willing to spend time and money that exceeds the cost of drive to get the outcome desired. But I think that’s more of a performative statement since it’s going to small claims which has very reasonable case fees and can defend self.

STATEMENT FROM MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS; Congressional Record Vol. 172, No. 76

  • NPR [1] source provides a bit more information on the person.

Trump told the show that a minister recognized the unidentified suspect from the photos released to the public, and went to his father. The father "convinced the son," Trump said, and took him to a friend who happened to be a U.S. Marshal, to turn him in. NPR has not confirmed whether the individual Trump is referring to is the same person of interest from the FBI's photos.

I wonder what distinctive feature of those photos the minister recognized. The released photos to me were very generic.

  • … and release of Epstein files.

  • It wouldn’t surprise me if GOP killed their own political pawns to at least delay the Epstein files debacle and their own pedophile in chief being implicated in them.

Probably wanting to delay it for as long as possible until the dude croaks during a live interview.

  • The Pedophile of the United States, folks.

  • Be a billionaire, get a few of those No Preset Spending Limit cards (Amex centurion), charge $36.65T spread across those NPSL cards, then fuck off to your private island. Then watch as the world burns 😈

    Shit posting aside …

The Treasury has run this program for years, and people have donated $67.3 million since 1996 …

    What’s the benefit? Tax deduction?

Any regular person throwing money into this needs a mental evaluation with emergency protection order.

  • This is an article from 2025-02-07, the backdoor payout to this turd does suggest he tried some back channeling in 2024 to get US regulators to green light it. But I did see their efforts failed last year [1]. Then their leadership tried to IPO on London's stock exchange [2]. However the IPO in London eventually failed earlier this month [3] and they are now trying to get IPO listing on Hong Kong's stock exchange.

Maybe I missed some recent news to suggest IPO is back on the table in US?

  • Ignoring clickbait title, this is impressive. Networked devices used to be the limit on data transfer.

Are there any devices even capable at reading/writing at 125,000G/sec?

Seems breakthroughs here are more relevant to for backhaul networks.

  • Google, Apple, and rest of big tech are pregnable despite their access to vast amounts of capital, and labor resources.

I used to be a big supporter of using their "social sign on" (or more generally speaking, single sign on) as a federated authentication mechanism. They have access to brilliant engineers thus naively thought - "well these companies are well funded, and security focused. What could go wrong having them handle a critical entry point for services?”

Well as this position continues to age poorly, many fucking aspects can go wrong!

    1. These authentication services owned by big tech are much more attractive to attack. Finding that one vulnerability in their massive attack vector is difficult but not impossible.
    2. If you use big tech to authenticate to services, you are now subject to the vague terms of service of big tech. Oh you forgot to pay Google store bill because card on file expired? Now your Google account is locked out and now lose access to hundreds of services that have no direct relation to Google/Apple
    3. Using third party auth mechanisms like Google often complicate the relationship between service provider and consumer. Support costs increase because when a 80 yr old forgot password or 2FA method to Google account. They will go to the service provider instead of Google to fix it. Then you spend inordinate amounts of time/resources trying to fix issue. These costs eventually passed on to customer in some form or another

Which is why my new position is for federated authentication protocols. Similar to how Lemmy and the fediverse work but for authentication and authorization.

Having your own IdP won’t fix the 3rd issue, but at least it will alleviate 1st and 2nd concerns

  • Before settling in Foster City, California, in 1977, the Thiel family lived in South Africa and South West Africa (modern-day Namibia). Peter changed elementary schools seven times. He attended a German-language school in Swakopmund that required students to wear uniforms and utilized corporal punishment, such as striking students' hands with a ruler. He said this experience instilled a distaste for uniformity and regimentation later reflected in his support for individualism and libertarianism.[20][21] The German community in Swakopmund that Thiel grew up in was known at the time for its continued glorification of Nazism.[22][23]

Thiel and Muskrat cut from the same cloth of trustfund babies and apartheid benefactors, m8

  • Peter Thiel is one of the many money men that want to privatize everything, dismantle federal government, hand keys to "network states" (company towns but somehow worse).

Goal is none or self regulation. Maximize profits. They want to shape the world into this hyper capitalistic society and surveillance state. Palantir is just one of those companies in a massive portfolio to fulfill this stupid dream shared by many industrialists.

  • Depends if teleportation uses TCP or UDP

  • Probably fake story but it’s more likely to domesticate an opossum over a raccoon. Maybe story over the decades changed the animal because human story telling results in many fabrications and hallucination of details.

Adult raccoons are vicious and territorial cunts. Well at least the one I encountered anyways

  • Adult man children run this country while many people struggling day to day or living paycheck to paycheck. Food and water supply poisoned with "forever chemicals". Plus a myriad of other issues that remain unaddressed (climate change).

Their bickering is news worthy because it’s "entertaining". We prefer to be medicated with entertainment rather than deal with real issues. The billionaires have us fighting a culture war with ourselves rather than having a class war against the billionaire class that run this country.

  • This president and administration is a hot mess.

    TACO

  • I say this as an American.

I hope tourism to USA plummets to nil or near 0 while orange man is in office. Have already seen a vast majority of conferences move their venues away from US. The few that have stayed in US had low participation/attendance.

This country only understands $$$, unfortunately. The people that voted for this idiocracy are very much likely the same people impacted negatively by orangutan administration policies.
