  • My cat loves being held (he will come beg to be picked up and will throw a tantrum if I refuse) and he likes me to hold him similar to how you would hold a baby you would be trying to burp. I scoop him up so he is facing my torso with his head at my chin level, front paws on my shoulder, and one of my arms is under his butt and back legs supporting them in a sitting position and my other arm is free to either pet him or wrap around his back and hug him. He loves being hugged tight or snuggled and pet.

My other cat doesn't like being held nearly as much, but I've found that this is also the position that she's happiest in. She feels physically supported and also still has autonomy to look around and move and can easily signal to me when she wants down.

  • I want to be a cat so I can peacefully sleep on someone's desk while they work

  • Cats are so impatient when it comes to wanting their food, and eternally patient when it comes to waiting for anything else they want. My cat will sit in one spot and wait for hours for me to do something for him (usually after I've said no or not now), but heavens forbid his dinner isn't 45 minutes early, he throws a shit fit.

  • Forgive me for commenting completely off topic, but I've scrolled past this post in my feed 4 different times today and every time I've read it as "what would you do if you found out you were a Republican?" and started laughing before rereading it correctly.

I'm not even trying to make a political statement, it's just the absurdity of it, it would be just as funny to me if you insert any other political party.

  • I'm not pro-ICE at all. I don't support their actions, and if given the choice would not have sent ICE after him or anyone else.

But if you are an orphan, you advocate for orphans to get tossed in an orphan grinding machine, and then the thugs who run the machine come to throw orphan you in the orphan grinding machine, I can take a moment to smile at the irony while still being horrified by and totally opposed to the existence of orphan grinding machine.

  • Curious if you're a millennial. I never used to use lol, then everyone I texted was using it and I felt like if I didn't I was coming across as too serious and not friendly so I started using it, then people started to make fun of everyone who used it and say it was a millennial thing and now I'm so self conscious every single time I use it but I can't stop

  • I can't stand beer or wine (or Coke), but I genuinely enjoy the harsh taste of hard liquor. I stopped drinking over a year ago and have no desire to ever drink alcohol again, but sometimes the craving for the taste hits me so hard and I almost give in until I remember how alcohol makes me feel, both while I'm drinking it and the day after. I really wish I could sit and enjoy a few drinks for the taste without there being any alcohol in it.

  • We don't go to Ravenholm

  • Frank is off to do crime

  • If you were the Grim Reaper would you want to vibe in the afterlife with Dolly and Tim or Trump and McConnell?

Evil never dies because the Grim Reaper gets to choose who comes to his house parties and he's got taste.

  • That poor child. What a long, painful death just because their parents couldn't be bothered to not be pieces of shits. You can choose whatever you want for yourself, but when you have another life dependent on you then you have to do whatever is necessary to limit their suffering.

When I was a child my mother told me that I had no rights as a human being except the ones she decided I should have until I was a legal adult and could move out of her house.

I haven't spoken to her in years.

  • "I just want to go hug my cat right now"

  • See maybe it's my part of the world, but I've always seen guys use an up nod as sort of a "yo, 'sup fellow human" , and a down nod as a "hello there". The up nod just has a subtly more chill bro feel to it, but either is fine lol.

Now I need to go poll some guys.

  • As a woman, seriously, just give me the bro nod to acknowledge that I exist but am not that interesting to you and keep walking. If you go out of your way to show that you aren't a threat now I'm thinking you're a threat, and if you pointedly ignore me now I'm wondering if you are actually far more interested in me than you should be but you want me not to notice.

Brief eye contact while acknowledging that I exist tells me you aren't afraid of me remembering your face but that you aren't being weird and staring or trying to hide from me.

  • If I had one wish, it would be that they could live as long as us. I'm sorry for your loss

  • You know, everyone who I personally know who passionately argues that if you give people free money they won't do any work has been a stay at home mom.

Stay at home moms get "free" money from the spouse who goes to work and supports them.

I would also argue that stay at home moms work harder than a lot of us who have full time jobs. I get to leave work and mentally check out, they're "at work" all the time.

Someone should point this out to the people who make this argument.

  • If I ever have a long lost relative die and leave me a mysterious fortune I will hire you as my chef. Your posts always make me hungry and I despise cooking.

  • If you've never heard it before, look up the song Gold Rush by Death Cab for Cutie. It's about losing places that are tied to memories.

  • 1100 sq ft alone sounds massive to me, and I'm a woman. I live alone with 2 cats in a 700 sq ft apartment and it feels perfect and even slightly spacious. I have a nice sized living room that houses my computer desk and my bookshelves, a largish kitchen/dining room, a big bedroom with a tiny walk in closet, and a larger than normal bathroom with a washer/dryer in a closet. I love it and I wish I could take it with me when I inevitably move away from the area.

What is the fantasy book/series everyone should read?
