Long term computer programmer, making my own library. American based. Far left politically. Politics centered around promoting use of paper ballots. Follows news about environmental collapse, political corruption in my country, human rights, science and tech.

  • Also everyone laughs or sneers or grimaces at SCOTUS these days.

The only people who take it seriously are the professionals in law who have so much sunk cost they cannot break away

  • Powerful steakholders are trying to steal money from our schools . We must light a fire under this topic and get the juicy details.

  • Probably prompted to a cabinet position overseeing child trafficking

  • I think Musk is a necessary catalyst for any resistance movement. He is so evil, unlikable, unhinged and too powerful; a wet dream for any author who writes dystopian novels.

If he did not exist I would fear that the nascent American protest movement would just evaporate like before. But here, literally one can just point to this bastard instead of arguing politics, and it generates waves of hate.

  • Where is that line?

  • The bar for resisters in high places is so low that a bum off the streets, not living in reality, could vote against a crime while enabling countless other injustices.

And they would be feted, cheered, wined and dined by the high and low. They would be seen as good people, and remembered in history. School children would be inspired

  • We are watching the beginning of the greatest wealth transfer in modern history.

If it succeeds or not depends on how many clearly understand this is theft and not incompetence.

  • Koch is old guard, they already lost too much influence.

It’s just drama that will not change that many things

  • Did his lawyers tell him to say this ?

  • Op article reminds me of parsing propaganda.

Yes, it mentions things I need or want to know, but it hides and misdirects.

  • It needs to be constant protests in Washington DC, where a significant number of people don’t go home overnight.

Size does not matter, it’s fine to start with a few dozen people.

As seen elsewhere , it’s not important individuals stay, it’s important the total number of people coming and going keep up a total.

Volunteer rides can get people back and forth and deliver groceries, hygiene, supplies and the hundreds of other things needed for a constant presence.

It’s very possible to work, manage childcare, and participate. Can go on day off or half a day.. can go once a month

  • These percentages are BS without context.

    • 50% of the population could go out for a single day protest. Nothing changes
    • 10% of the population could do daily protests. Nothing changes.
    • 3% of the population could shut down the country, all hell breaks loose. maybe change maybe not.
    • 1% of the population declares war. Remembered for a thousand years.

And even the larger peaceful protests can really change things if they have concrete and achievable political goals.

It’s not the size, it’s how you use it

  • As a balding person I say “ba humbug”, I’ve seen too many false promises, dead ends and scams already.

I have not seen split ends

  • Truly a victory for bipartisanship

  • I think there are fines and consequences if he does not pay. I doubt he will pay?

  • Shout out to the employee who interrupted to accuse Microsoft of war crimes!

  • It would be great if more nationalists and the patriots actually put in effort to change the USA in their neighborhoods, they don’t have to be leftists.

Until then such people are obstacles, even if they get outraged over stuff like in OP news article

  • And that is why I am going to clean up on the betting markets. More seriously, anyone thinking of this exchange only need compare exit polls for all the states, in general and primaries.

I remember when exit polls used to be talked about a lot in the 1970s. But I think most people reading will be puzzled about why I harp on a type of polling.

Likewise I think finding exit poll results might be challenging these days in the USA. Which is a pity, indeed
