  • I work out of my car several days each week. My wife drives her car back and forth from home to her office.

    Guess which one has more trash all over inside?! I don't know how anyone can stand it. I don't need it pristine, but.. Geez grab your trash on the way out of the car...

  • I found a light in our house that had been wired so the neutral was turned off by the switch, not the hot. I forget why I was even checking, maybe the fixture was bad, so I was checking power before turning off the breaker.

    I assume that light was wired up by the previous owner, but I don't know for sure. The wiring in the house that he didn't do is pretty good, but the stuff he did is... Questionable.

  • I'm a real estate photographer, and one rule of the job is not to use the bathroom in the house we're shooting. So, I often find myself going into gas stations and grocery stores to use theirs, often without buying anything. I'm quickly getting over the feeling in the meme!

    The rule makes sense, as almost all of the houses I shoot have just been deep-cleaned and possibly staged in preparation for an open house and showings. Vacant houses are common, too, so there are no supplies like towels or toilet paper.

  • I've had a similar situation. In my case it was people helpfully stopping by to suggest things, and my boss telling me to needed to work on something else that was less critical. Then I was like, hey, I'm going to telework because I can't focus here.... Oh no, you need to be here...

  • Hehe I took the early retirement last year, and they're going to pay me several thousand dollars a month for the rest of my life to do nothing. I'm only 51, so it's likely to be a while. I've started a second career as a photographer, and my health insurance is through my retirement.

    I made more working for them, but they're going to pay me for a few decades to not do anything!
