  • With trump and oligarchs, always look to the $$$.

Oligarchs like to do a lot of stock price manipulation so they can make bank on both the ups and the downs. Step 1. Buy stock in the competitor and short the target. Step 2. Release info/misinfo to tank the target's share price. Step 3. Take the profit on the short and also sell the competitor stock while it's high. Step 4. (optional depending on what you plan to manipulate next) either buy the target's stock while it's low if you expect it to recover quickly or leave it alone if you don't.

And of course with trump there's also the possibility of other factors like a) there was some "nice stock price you have there--shame if anything would happen to it" going on behind the scenes to get some "donations to the trump library" and then he would go ahead and do the thing either way, and b) Little Bobby Brainworm's fever dreams.

  • It's not saying anything about past tenses in that meme, it's just saying that each word has two different pronunciations that rhyme with the other.

  • The pinky up by itself is "I". Index and thumb out by themselves is "L", Pinky and thumb by themselves is "Y".

So that hand shape is just the combination of the 3 letters together for ILY=I love you. It's probably the most generally well-known ASL sign.

  • Pong, right?

  • I did my part! No kids.

  • Currently there are about 8.2 billion people on earth. When I was born it was just under 3 billion.

  • Usually it is said that someone is 'contemplating' or 'planning' a run for office, but since it's about a woman the headline says 'plotting' because that sounds underhanded and nefarious and the media wants to get the framing in place early.

That said, I think it would be better for her to run to replace Schumer in the Senate. A better chance to win and could do more good there.

  • But in her mind, she's the oh so cool "Bondi. - Pam Bondi."

  • “Businesses cannot discriminate,” Bondi said, referring to the Office Depot incident.

Yet the GOP wants 'conscience clauses' for pharmacists to be able to refuse to fill prescriptions for drugs they don't approve of, for medical personnel to be able to refuse health care to people they don't approve of, and of course for bakeries to be able to refuse their services to people they don't approve of.

  • It’s different because Nazis are not a protected class.

Were not a protected class, until now under this regime. Regardless of what any laws may say, since they no longer apply.

  • Maybe he'll just rename it 'Statue of America' and sandblast the poem off.

  • I'm expecting an executive order to take down the Statue of Liberty any day now.

  • Fried in baby oil.

  • That's not how the Constitution and our legal system is supposed to work. The DOJ and FBI are supposed to be independent and enforce the law in a non-partisan manner and a POTUS is not supposed to be able to tell them who to arrest or give the appearance of indicating who they should arrest. Trump of course doesn't respect any of that, but Biden was doing it the way it's supposed to be and has always been done, and expecting law enforcement agencies to do the investigations and make any arrests (they actually did arrest many people, but not the ringleader). Had Biden ordered trump's arrest all hell would have broken loose socially and courts would have ordered his release.

So in reality Biden's "biggest, most enduring mistake" was putting milquetoast Merrick Garland in charge of the DOJ. Garland was a namby-pamby little wimp who was so afraid of the appearance of partisanship that he piddled around and did nothing. The country waited around (because we had no power not to) saying hopefully, "he's being very thorough so the case is sure to hold up in court" but in reality he was a useless piece of crap who didn't do his job.

  • Yes, me too. Cursive is easier and faster to write. Though I usually print the capital letters.

  • I have never purchased a smartphone and don't want one. I still prefer to use a flip phone. Their quality has improved over the years so I haven't been forced to switch yet.

  • Yes, but just until I realize I'm doing it then I breathe.

  • Thanks for the link to additional info. Sounds like he was definitely trying to harm them and they were lucky to find the pills and that the granddaughter was driving and saw that paramedics were there to pull over and contact. Who knows what might have happened if he had been driving--he might have gone on to Plan B.
