  • Boo! Hiss!

  • Were those burgers beef, ostrich, buffalo, elk, or something else?

  • I'm assuming that someone didn't like Robins and this naming scheme was revenge?

  • We need laws so that politicians who lie can face repercussions

  • More sunlight as summer approaches, and enough heat that I can be outside without freezing to death. Can't wait until I can get the back patio set up, and see hummingbirds coming by again. Plus it'll be kayaking season, just in time for my sprained wrist to have hopefully healed.

  • Meant to be ever since he decided so a few weeks ago? Yeah, that ain't how "meant to be" works

  • It's because he's not serious. Peace isn't something that serves his interests

  • "Weak" regularly survives, and thrives. Do you expect everyone on Earth to always be "strong" at all times in all situations? Are all moments of weakness to be shamed and scorned, even if they follow many days, weeks, or months of strength?

  • Not all weaknesses make us weak; and not all weakness is to be feared, mocked, ridiculed, or scorned. Admitting weakness can provide you with help from others; admitting weakness can free you from unrealistic expectations you've placed upon yourself; and being weak is a natural state of affairs in reality, in comparison to the titanic forces of nature under which we all strive to thrive.

  • Tales of the Dying Earth by Jack Vance; a collection of 5x short stories, 2x novels, and 3x novellas set in the far, far future Earth. Wonderful mix of SF and Fantasy.

  • Well, that sounds just awful

  • This is the dumbest branding exercise ever. There are no additional "freedoms" that you can get in a corporate-run city versus a regular city; except that perhaps the corporation has more freedom to trounce upon the rights of the citizenry.

If the future that Curtis Yarvin and his type envision starts to shape up, we're gonna need to go full, 100% anti-corporation to push back.

  • That watch is a Swatch and they still make new transparent models, I got one a few months back and posted it to the watch sub.

  • I don't even know you but I'd jump at the opportunity to watch that

  • As a Canadian, the moment tanks roll across the border I'm going feral. This is not the future we were promised in our youth. Sovereignty is non-negotiable.

  • I put 100 hours into this before I gave it up. The luck mechanics just drove me up the wall; I could be having a great run and suddenly the whole thing falls apart because of bad luck.

I prefer to make my own luck. Which I can't.

  • This is why "move fast and break things" is the worst possible motto

  • The richest man in the world needs more money, of course. Enough is never enough.

  • Who cares? LLMs are more hype than fact, and even if true, this will change in a couple weeks
