  • I don't think many people will care about this series but Phantasy Star Online 2. I absolutely loved the first ones on Dreamcast, GameCube, Blue Burst on PC. It was my first foray into mmorpgs and shaped my teenage years. I was so excited that they were making a sequel and, of course, Sega fucked it all up as they always do.

I hate the way they made it all animu bullshit aesthetics and weird concepts like fighting tanks in modern day Tokyo or dinosaurs in the past. And so many micro transactions and weird credits to buy. Why couldn't they just keep expanding the story on Ragol?

  • Weird to see katsu in ramen. Is that a pretty common thing outside Japan?

  • Speaking of retro cgi, I loved insektors.

  • As a Japanese guy with a Western upbringing, the Japanese website bother me too, but it obviously doesn't bother people here enough that the companies need to change it. They just grew up with a different way of processing visual info.

  • Ah that's too bad. But good onher for taking accountability. Hardly anyone does that anymore.

  • Oh, my wife was a fan of hers. What happened to her channel??

  • I see, thank you!

  • I love quantum vandalism.

  • I've never heard it used as an insult. How is it even supposed to be offensive? "Har har you're a person who doesn't like tech"?

  • That's so scary not knowing whether a debt has been paid off properly or not.

While I appreciate my Japanese healthcare (I find it a bit better than Canada's), it's kinda weird not knowing the ballpark amount I'm going to pay BEFORE seeing the doctor. I get a bill at the end of my visit. They have an itemized list of things they did. Each item is given "points," and they're converted into yen at the end. I'm not even sure what each point amounts to how many yen (although, that's purely on me, the answer is probably a duckduckgo search away). I don't like the feeling that I might end up with a surprisingly expensive bill.

  • And they still probably expect tip too those morons.

  • We seem to in Japan. I see posters here every now and then. It basically says, "are you sure it's an emergency," and lists symptoms that might not be appropriate for calling an ambulance like having a slight fever or a hangover.

  • No way, these two have barely started their overused (over-cast?) status imo. For the longest time it was just Brad Pitt, Johnny Depp, and Tom Hanks in every other movie.

  • Whom

  • Oh jeez. Marketing got the advertisement all wrong. Here, let me fix that.

it is made of to steel steal money from idiots.

    Here we go

  • Got it, thanks, that makes sense.

I think it was good that you mentioned it. That's one word I grew up using casually (90s kid) and I felt for a long time like "what the fuck is the big deal?" but I also have words I don't like being called (like Jap) and it doesn't feel good when people tell me it's not a slur.

A while back, I came to the conclusion that f someone is offended by it, the kind thing (maybe this isn't the right thing or logical thing) to do is not use it, or at least think about why it might hurt these specific people.

  • Wait, I can't tell.

Did OP write removed to mean the r word or did he type it but did it automatically get censored (if the latter, I didn't know Lemmy could do that). Or is removed innuendo for the r word? Or are you actually offended by the literal usage of "removed?" I'm so confused.

  • We did?

  • OP must be a tech CEO.
