  • I'm not sure if you mean "trust" as in a handshake or not, but that's not what we're talking about about. At larger scales, everything is done in written contracts, strictly. Shit rolls DOWNhill if those are not airtight, and that's when lawsuits kick off.

  • Not true. I've been involved in litigation with both AWS and Google over unsecured comms that were defined as being TLS secured in SLA/SLO contracts and found not to be. Not that anything nefarious was happening necessarily, but the expectation is clear.

    Whether these asshats even check for such requirements with a Musk run company right now 🤷

    It COULD possibly be that they are logging every exchange happening at the network fabric between the service layers, but nobody knows unless they intentionally take steps to investigate or accidentally prove it.

    This is AWFUL writing. A lot of circular reasoning with no real points landed on the topic at hand, and ZERO exposition in expressing that idea whatsoever.

    I looked up the "author", and they've only been posting content for a few weeks, which leads me to believe this is a spam post. Only her "husband" posts content or appears in camera, which makes me think this is a fake account altogether.

    How would this have been organically found when this writer is relatively unknown according to hits and traffic?

  • Not even the same thing. They're not stupid. They know people are going to use it. EMBRACING it would be more like adding AI nonsense tools wherever they can, and rely on automated systems that are based on LLMs to contribute code, which is not what's happening here.

  • Yes, but as I said, on a 4GB budget, this matters quite a bit. I run thousands of edge devices on a custom distro with similar constraints, and it adds up quickly. It's not that it's insurmountable or anything, but I'm answering the question asked and not getting into the particulars. It's just a known fact.

    Depending on what you're doing, it can make a big difference. Especially when you're talking about a 4GB machine with little to no margin of extra working space. Updates will certainly be problematic.

  • Immutable uses more memory during many operations. You're probably not going to find anything stable, with a desktop, and all the other bits you'd expect running at under 4G. Safely.

    That being said, any other traditional distro is lower maintenance anyway. Not sure why you think immutable is special in that regard.
