  • All the numbers I've seen say EV sales are increasing. Newsweek reported that despite increasing year over year sales numbers for EVs, Telsa is experiencing reduced yoy sales figures. Some examples:

    • Europe in general saw a 34% YoY increase in EV sales, but a 45% decrease for Tesla.
    • Germany reported a staggering 76% decline in that year.
    • Spain saw similar declines.
    • China saw a 49% decrease YoY for Tesla, and a staggering 161% increase for local company BYD. While some of this wasdue to a production shutdown for Tesla in Shanghai, still, EVs are booming in China but Tesla isn't.

Newsweek claimed that there was a downturn in EVs in Australia, but instead of telling us 'sales of EVs dipped x% YoY', they go with a more crappier message that EVs represented a smaller proportion of cars this year compared to last year, which is of course useless without knowing how many cars overall were sold.

  • ...killing my consumption addiction...

This is the key right here. Do more with less. Keep that phone a year or two longer. Don't spend money into the pockets of the billionaires lining up for Trump's new fascist country. A 7 day boycott can show you you CAN go longer than a day without buying from Amazon. And if you can stay away for a week from them, maybe you can do without the unnecessary stuff they're throwing down your throat.

  • The first day is the hardest. You NEED that thing that Amazon has made easy for you to get with just a click from your couch. You drag yourself off the couch grumbling and get on the bus/on the bike/in your car (if you have to) and go out and buy something just as good (if not better), from the local store. You repeat this a few times. By day 7, you realise...you can buy the stuff locally, not supporting a knee-bending billionaire, and the world hasn't ended. Even if you still buy things you just can't find from Amazon after the 7 day boycott, you find many things you can buy locally without funding Nazis. Your total sales goes down, and you're more inclined to shut down Amazon Prime. Eventually, you are only using Amazon as a last resort.

And that's how you go from a 7 day boycott to changing your life. ;)

  • OK. This topic is a bit concerning. All from 2021 to 2024, Trump bitched and moaned how the election was stolen from him. He's poisoned the well of electoral politics by making anyone who questions the results of an election look like a crazy person.

This youtube video shows something very concerning about election results in 2024, and also questions 2020. Not in the way of screaming, but with numbers and analysis. But if they saw issues with 2020's vote count, which favoured Trump in later counting and amounted to what some have called a "Russian Tail", it would have been better to bring that up in 2021, and get investigators into actually auditing the vote and punishing the perpetrators. They waited until now, and now, if we point out that Trump rigged 2024 and rigged 2020 but not by enough, then we just look like sore losers.

But we need to have this discussion and be willing to fight to hold Trump accountable, even if we DO look like sore losers. But we need to get to the numbers quickly, because I suspect the shitgibbon has plans around April or May to do an authoritarian power grab of epic proportions.

  • Let's put it this way. I have been shadow-banned on Reddit. Got an e-mail saying my account appeared to be hacked after I responded to an apparent call for violence with an observation that we're generally not violent as a group but as time goes by, things might change, and a warning that you have to be careful with what you say because Reddit has a rule against calling for violence. I did the steps to secure my account, but while the message wenty away, I have verified that all my comments disappear into the ether. Sure seems like a ban there.

And now, you can be banned for even LIKING a call for violence? And Reddit's admins basically black-hole you if you have support questions of any kind. So, you like someone saying, say, "If this crap keeps going on, I might need to do something more than holding a sign, if you know what I mean," and some Reddit power-tripper with a hardon for Trump clicks the 'ban ur account' button, and then you are stuck in read-only mode in reddit.

  • Exactly this. Russia doesn't have to do a lot of work here. Most of this bullshit is home grown. Russia just amplifies it.

  • You see, I don't have a problem with that. When you step over the line like you have multiple times here, you deserve to get called out for it and your comment removed. What I have a problem with is the uneven application of the rule. He's stepped out of line too, which means his comments should be removed just like yours are being removed. I'd respect the mods a whole lot more if they'd cut both sides down to size, rather than just muzzling the Left.

  • Riiight.

You are not the final arbitrator of what a personal attack is. The mods are. Just because you say you are being attacked doesn't mean you are. It just means you can't handle your ideas being criticised. And trust me. The mods ride us lefties far harder than they ride the people coming in here to spread right-wing ideas. Look at how long it took them to deal with Universal Monk, and how many of our comments got muzzled for daring to try to correct him.

Bye now. I don't want to risk attracting them to me again. :|

  • If you feel you're being attacked, report the attacks, and the mods MAY remove them. They ride us on the Left far harder than they ride the people coming in from outside and pushing conservative memes like the idea that Zelensky is incompetent here in this channel. Maybe you'll get a few of us silenced. :)

  • Right. If you believe this, I really can't help you. It's like you watched a different video than I did. Trump and Vance lied like fucking rugs in this, and baited the fuck out of Zelensky. But gotta keep that decorum to satisfy some rando on the internet. I'd love to say what I find you to be, but the mods would come down on me like they should be coming down on you for your other comments. But looking at your downvotes compared to downvotes to what you're replying to? I think that stands on its own. ;)

  • I have. I'm just holding you to the same standards as you are holding Zelinsky to, and also testing the Mods out to see if they'll equally apply the rules about personal attacks, too.

  • Forever is a long time, but there needs to be consequences for Trump's behaviour. It would be unwise to rely on the USA after this. Establish trade relationships with other countries, and don't outsource your defence to the USA.

  • Nice personal attack.

  • I'm sorry. A lie should be called out immediately, not allowed to be inserted into the discussion by the awful shithead delivering said lie. What you're asking Zelinsky to do here is fight with both hands tied behind his back, for 'decorum'. That's bullshit and you know it. Zelensky called Trump and Vance out on their bullshit. I don't think he gives two shits about some rando on the internet and their belief on what the 'proper' way to deal with Trump's bullshit is. IMO, he did what he had to do, And now he needs to pivot away from the USA for support because we did the awful thing and elected the Shitgibbon TWICE.

  • Today is also a great day to learn about the small mom and pop operations in your town or city, and divert a few dollars of your spending to them. Today's a great day to take leave from your work, take a bus or bike into work, carpool with someone else, or otherwise not use gas. It's a great day to go out into nature or hang out with friends, not to consume, but to just live. You can't zero out your upkeep today, but maybe you can reduce it by spending smartly. To me that's what today's blackout is meant to do: not hurt Amazon and Walmart and Tesla, but learn the smart ways of doing things. IMO, at least.

  • For the hard core trumper, I'm absolutely sure you're correct here. The Shitgibbon's merry band of miscreants won't change, and his vote floor is likely in the 70m range. As I like to say, there are an awful lot of very awful people in this country.

What I hope changes is the narrow band of people who voted Trump because they bought the propaganda that the alternative was worse (and will now see that the leopards are gonna eat their faces and not just 'other people's' faces...), the narrow band of people who voted Third Party, and the WIDE band of over 90 million people who stayed home in the most consequential election in their lives. Maybe 2 years of this utter shitshow will push the votes for Team Blue back into the 80+m range. Assuming we have an election in '26 and '28, of course!

The only problem is I don't trust the Democrats to actually do the right thing between 2026 and 2032. They have a bad habit of making incompetent decisions when they're in power. Can't upset the Korporate Kampaign Kash cart, can we? And thus I expect people to stay home in 2030 and 2032, again, enabling the GQP again.

  • You might be right, but my question here is: Has it really had time to sink in yet? They got their student aid in January when Biden was still in office. Some of them may have lost jobs, but for the most part, there hasn't been enough time yet for the leopards to come around for their faces. And Newsweek HAS posted overly optimistic articles saying the Dems have this in the bag. Granted, we won't know the actual outcome until 2 years from now, but I am thinking the shitheads will just blame Dems, DEI, or whatever other BS to avoid realising that it's their own leopard eating their face.

  • Honestly, I think the author did the most important task of all -- exposing this to daylight. Let's face it. For at least the next 2 years, and probably for the next 4, and maybe even beyond, this is what the government is going to do. Unless and until we can replace Republicans with Democrats and take back control of the country, this is what we're getting. This is what 77mln people voted for. This is what 90+mln people voted for by not voting. And 2mln people voted third party, which was also a vote for this indirectly. And Trump does have the right to implement the agenda he was elected on, of course, within the guidelines of the laws.

I suspect there's illegality here. But it has to be proven. This is a good way to prove it -- leak all orders, especially the ones that smell of illegality. Then trust Democratic AGs to bring court cases and hope that the worst of it gets tied up in legal limbo until we can finally flush the Republicans. By reporting this bullshit, this worker has enabled that to happen. We'll see what comes from it.

  • The problem is you get the NDP/Liberal vs. Conservative effect when you do this. If you have 30% of the population vote for your Leftie, and 30% vote for the other Leftie, in a given congressional district, the Republican can win with 31%, despite 60% voting against the Republican. We need RCV before we can do this, and people need to understand that they MUST put the other party as choice 2 or we are back to ending up with a Republican.
